I can't see Billy Brown being at East Fife next season.

The 2 cup semi finals this weekend have been superb. A great advert for Scottish football although not for defending.

Been a while since Jonathan Watson has done something funny.

Having watching both SC and FA cup semis, the two at Hampden were by far the best for entertainment.

Pretty sure Hibs are in Europe, just a matter of which ELQ round they enter.

Yup - that's the only reason the six yard box exists in the first place.

St Mirren already accept a bigger league isnt possible so what now?

edit: BBC claiming Stewart Milne 'close to tears' and Stewart Gilmour looking very angry.

Celtic were prepared to change the voting structure to 9-3 but St Mirren said no.

This was the 'big ticket' Gilmour spoke of last week - so why not accept that proposal before the final vote?

St Mirren claimed one of their major objections was the 11-1 vote, yet even though they were offered a compromise of changing it they still voted against. It's clearly got nothing to do with listening to fans and everything to do with the fact they're the most likely club to suffer from 12-12-18. Other than Dundee, who are already gone, they're the most likely club to get relegated. If we had 12-12-18 now they'd be fighting for their lives in the 8 team playoff league, not living comfortably on account of Dundee being terrible.

apparently sponsors were lined up for the 12-12-18 structure but not for the status quo.

St Mirren and RC voted against changing the voting structure to 9-3.

How can Celtic "offer" to change the voting system - who is running the show here??

So any vote that doesn't go your way you just move the goalposts ... only in the SPL could this be "proposed".

The fact that 10 clubs have basically voted against their fans wishes seems to have been lost in all this and the question remains why did this have to be pushed through for next year ... I think the answer to that will come out in the next couple of days.

Not strictly true - Celtic were prepared to have league reconstruction taken out of the "special" category that requires 11-1.

In other words, change to 9-3 just to push this issue through.

I can't wait for the phone ins tonight. I wonder how many will blame Rangers for this?

every club accpets a bigger league is not possible so why not create a climate where a few years down the line a bigger league could be possible.

Celtic have always wanted the 11-1 in place and did the OldCo Rangers. Celtic proposed that this be changed for the league vote (which last week was a 'Big ticket') and the result was 10-2

St Mirren could've voted yes and still vote No for the league.

Why would they do that tho?

They knew 10 would vote yes to reconstruction so it wasn't worth it. That's the big thing they didn't want
Mark.

What's the point?

Read my post again - the 9-3 proposal was for this issue only*. It was not an overarching change to 9-3 for everything. So all they would be doing is voting in a measure that meant their vote in the real issue would count for nothing.

*with respect to those other issues that are 11-1; some are already 9-3.

Any names? A league splitting into 3 mini leagues of 8 would have been awesome and the cash would have rolled in. Eh?
