For me this SFL1 breakaway proposal represents a massive vote of 'no confidence' in David Longmuir after his refusal to accept the SFA's offer to act as mediator in reconstruction talks.
I don't know if any of the 8 current SFL1 signatories to the latest proposal are represented on the League Committe but I know that Jim Ballantyne is and of course his Airdrie will be in 2nd Division next season.
SPL clubs keep saying they are keen on change but their self preservation mindset always kicks in when it comes to a vote and I just think it will be status quo next season with the only change being a play off place between 11th in SPL and 2nd in SFL1

I am going to be the first to suggest it. I am not convinced Jackie McNamara is the long term answer for Dundee United. His results have not been great and I am bit concerned the team may be loaded with Partick players next season

Its probably in the top half dozen jobs in the country, I am not sure if its a jump too far, early next season will tell a lot

I was up at the Arbroath/Alloa game today. The guy that scored the winning goal for Alloa is 15. That is a kid. Lee McCulloch is almost 20 years older than him. That isn't a team 'full of kids'.

It was a good win. As Ally said we would have bitten anyone's hand off to be told this would be the outcome at the end of the season.

It was great for them to win the league, and they had every right to celebrate

The team has been full of kids all season. There are more people who have some experience, Big Jig being one of them. but in the main it is a team full of kids who are winning their first senior prize. Let them have their moment

Its weird to watch though. Yes there are a lot of kids but there are guys on big money dropping down too. Rangers were always going to walk away with this and they played some gash football along the way. Im not saying it shouldnt be celebrated but it must be an odd feeling? I must have been seeing things when I saw Lee McCulloch jumping around with the trophy.

It's funny because in the eyes of the fans, The Rangers was picking up where Rangers left off, which includes routinely beating SPL sides while marching towards silverwear. I'm sure there was talk of an "easy quadruple" at the start of the season.

So for the only trophy to be a title that was a foregone conclusion, and that being celebrated as though it were an SPL title, was hilarious to watch.

The funniest thing is that with a £7m wage bill to win SFL3, £750k a year McCoist still thinks he needs a transfer warchest and many more players.

Don't get me wrong, there are mercenaries there like Ian Black etc. But for the young lads it was a great moment.

Today was more about the footballing side of the club for a change rather than the off the field nonsense. That was a nice distraction
