Love them! I first remember seeing them in Zoo magazine (comic) which, far as I remember was a collection of American newspaper comic strips.
Only have a few of the books myself, but they are fantastic. Not read them in a while, but as they say, no time like the present.

After having had a few of the books when I was a kid, I splashed out on the complete collection a few years back (one of those cheap high street book shops was selling it off cheap, £30 I think...). Brilliant stuff! Though the complete set weighs a tonne!

I absolutely love Calvin and Hobbes .... Its amazing! Love the strip where he finds the injured animal but it sadly dies ... Also the one where they go to a wedding and come back and the house has been broken into and he cant find Hobbes, chokes me up ha .... Got soooo many of the books and im so glad that Bill Watterson never sold out and let them destroy it with a movie

I've never read the one about the burglary and a missing Hobbes. I'm gonna do a search now.

Bill Waterson is/was a genius. I read Calvin & Hobbes when I'm suffering from insomnia/anxiety and always end up feeling better.
