Emmerdale - Top 3 Characters That Need To Be Axed? And Why?
Which are the 3 characters in Emmerdale that you think need to be axed? And why?
For me it would have to be - 1. Cameron - he can't act at all, hard to understand and always mumbles. It's getting abit annoying now.... 2. Robbie - don't think I really need to explain on this one ha. 3. Bernices new fella (forget his name) - he's only just arrived but already he's coming across as a poor mans Grayson Sinclair. Got a feeling he's going to be a dull character, who goes nowhere. Be suprised if he's kept on after his initial 6 month contract. Why wait, get rid now! |

1. Debbie - First off before I go a little mean. I'm sure Charley Webb is an absolutely lovely person. She can't act. I haven't seen a clip of her playing Debbie where she hasn't had a glazed-over disinterested look on her face. Also, I just don't think Debbie is needed. She is tied to characters that are at the heart of the show but she herself is not. I've found her to be on a whole a pretty one-dimensional character.
2. Cameron - It isn't even me not liking him. I wouldn't say he's the greatest of actors. I don't like that his current story meant the end of Tom Lister on the show (who is just a riveting actor as far as I'm concerned no one else could have made Carl as iconic as he did). It's just the way this story is going. It's going to end with him leaving the show in some form. You can see it coming from a mile off. 3. Kerry - I don't understand what the character adds to the show. I think the actress isn't bad. She could play a great character, this isn't the one though. She isn't even really adding anything to the Amy character and I don't understand the romance with Andy. (No Chemistry there). I've also been thinking she's kind of a jokey version of a mix of Becky and Kylie from Corrie. It's just not working. I say bid her a due and maybe we'll see her on another soap playing a character that she can really sink her teeth into. |

Only 3 here's the ones at the top of my list!
Robbie - What could have been a really interesting character has been ripped to shreds by the lad playing him! I know its harsh but he is simply the worst actor ive ever seen because of that Robbie has no depth, no emotion, and no presence and for that he is a completely useless character! Megan - The character dosnt work for me at all! I dont know if its Gaynor Faye or the writing but with that creep son of her's they make one of the most unconvincing villain type duo's ive ever seen all of her material is boring and unconvincing! Ali - Vile, Horrible, Repulsive character she has ZERO redeemable features about her at all which makes her in my eyes impossible to like! |

Rachael - she's just so spineless and defeatist.
Dan - nice guy, but too much of a doormat to be interesting Robbie - thoroughly unpleasant, every time I think that a redeeming quality is showing through, it turns out he's just putting it on to con Declan. |

Only 3? Could make your way through 70% of the cast tbh.
I'll start with Dan, has there been an episode in the last 3 months ( that he has featured in ) where he isn't moping in either the pub or cafe? Its just boring me, Chas is back mate.. GO FIND CLOSURE. Laurel, Ashley and her went through so much together and it was chucked away to start a new life with.......... Marlon? Wreck your marriage to start afresh with the pub microwave chef? Gobbie, no redeeming qualities, at all. |

Gobbie - complete brat
Dan - miserable sod, most people get over break ups quicker than this ... Cameron - killed Carl, just has this bizzare way about him these days. |

In particular order, since they all deserve horrible deaths:
1. Laurel 2. Marlon 3. Debbie |

1. All the Spencers. Not one of them can act.
2. Mini-Macey. Brought in as a joke, surely 3. Kai-ree. Vulgar. |

1 - Ali - Character hasn't worked since being introduced and is totally pointless. The idea with a 'rough and ready' character like this is that we see the hard exterior hides a soft centre, but Ali is like concrete covering stone.
2 - Laurel - Liked her before her personality transplant, but the dalliance with Marlon has totally ruined her beyond repair. 3 - Debbie - Charkey Webb can act as we saw during her relationship with Jasmine and subsequent murder plot, but the material given to Debbie over the last year has made her so unlikeable and unemotional, it's grating. |

Katie, Declan and Megan.
I was so looking forward to Gaynor Faye's arrival, but I can't stand these characters and the place needs a really good new family. |

Megan's whole existence on the show has simply been to push the "dysfunctional" Macey's - from the long lost son to the business backstabbing merry go round that seems to be never ending. We have seen her vaguely being sympathetic to Zac and having a meaningless one dimensional relationship with Carl, neither of which were written with any depth or substance - so rather than fleshing out the character of Megan, they've just served to confuse the personality boundaries of the character. Too many of ED's recently introduced characters are suffering from being written as plot device characters rather than fully rounded indivduals. Priya is a classic example - there is no substance to her whatsoever - she's just a plot device in the David / Alicia storyline. Hazel was another sad example - her only purpose was to be the anguished mother of a teraplegic son who wanted to die - by the end she had become a bit of a joke with her overused catchphrase. |

Rhona - All she does in moan. What does Paddy see in her? Get rid of Rhona and bring back Brett the vet to take her place :-)
Priya - I don't think she really contributes anything to the programme. Bernice and her new bloke - For the same reason as Priya. |

In no particular order....
Marlon - I do not see what his character has to offer any more. Could easily leave. Cameron - Same reasons as everyone else really. I just never liked his character at all, and I don't think the chap playing him is the greatest. He just mumbles all the damned time. Adam - What's the point of him? I could add many many more, (several Dingles or Sharmas, Kerry etc), I'd give some of the new characters time to settle before picking them lol. |

Adam - utterly pointless character now. They should do something with him or get rid.
Rachel - does nothing but whine. I get the impression that we're supposed to sympathise/empathise with poor Rachel's plight. I don't. Any of the recent new additions/returnees: Vanessa, Bernice, Steve. Here's hoping that one/more of the above cross Cameron's path in the near future ![]()

Adam - the guy who plays him can't act. That's enough reason for him to go.
Cameron - ditto. So many contenders for the third spot. But......Laurel. If she shoves off [she can go to look after one of her parents who conveniently needs a carer] then we can get Marlon back to his single self and we can get Ashley back [somehow] into the Church. I want them to make Megan, Robbie and Debbie more likeable. |

Got to agree with the Rhona comments. Liked her to begin with, but she's awful nowadays.
Weird thing is, she's not meant to be a soap bitch but she's turning in to one, but we are still all meant to like her?! |
