My Nexus 7 and Galaxy Nexus both suffered with this until a fix was released by Google shortly after. I guess you'll have to wait for Samsung to pull their finger out and bring out another update.

Google now and location services use up too much battery. This was first discovered on the Nexus4 and is still not fixed.

Try turning off google now or location services and I bet it changes.

I only noticed because it now eats 50-75% of battery overnight whereas before the update it wouldn't touch it hardy & it would last 24 hours with lots of music played & a bit of internet like here & youtube

Thanks guys glad it's not just me.

Haven't got an S3, but do have the original Note which will shortly be updated to 4.1.2 and the Premium Suite. I'm curious - did you do a full factory reset (after back up), before upgrading? I've previously read that this should eliminate any software bugs that carry over from previous versions... one of which may be battery drain.

I had this issue when I went from Gingerbread to ICS, until future updates fixed it (huge battery drain). Therefore considering doing this again, before connecting to Kies.

No, Kies did it all, I didn't have to do anything as I recall.
