Which network performed best at midnight ?
As the clock strikes midnight and everyone calls / sends their happy new year text messages I just wondered if people on the forum could report how their phone performed...
Please post network, phone and location to see if we can find which network was most reliable at midnight and worked! Happy New Year to all the readers |

With lots of people using whatsapp, BBM & iMessage I'm sure the networks can cope a lot better, especially as a high proportion of those will be through wifi.

I haven't had any network troubles the last, possibly, five NYE's. I've been able to phone family/friends within seconds after midnight on my first attempt. I'm on Orange (EE). Lst year I hd an iPhone (well, still have the aforementioned device
), and had no trouble with text messaging or iMessage.Do the networks actually clog up anymore? I'm in South Wales, by the way. I live about four miles north of Caerphilly, which is about six miles outside Cardiff. |

Can't make a phone call on T-Mobile from where I am in Cornwall, or send a text message (and the person I'm trying to send a message to is on Vodafone, not even iMessage works so I'm assuming Vodafone data where he is, is also broken)
Not really complaining, there's absolutely no point designing the network to deal with the load for a couple of hours per year. I assume it's something further upstream that's congested as really I can't imagine a rural cell being too loaded with calls and text messages. |

I'm sometimes able to send messages from T-Mobile to Orange and I finally sent a message to someone on Vodafone. All of the phone who have sent me messages are on either of the EE networks. Still no phone calls.
iMessage appears to be a bit off too (using wifi) |

I'd expect so, they're connected to the core network like everyone else, just in a different way. To be fair though I'm probably not the best person to ask, so I'm probably wrong.
