I got a Siemens SL65 Voda Contract phone for my main one and a O2 (soon to be Voda) PAYG Siemens S55 that I keep as a back up phone in the car.

Well how much is a on-net call? You do get notification on incoming calls that they are diverted (on most phones)

TBH i'm not sure. the last time i had call diverting was on an old philips BT Cellnet phone when it was diverted to my house phone (5 years or so ago).

I suppose on my Nokia 6230 it should tell me which were diverted and which were direct.
I get free minutes on my work phone to other o2 phones anyway which i rarely use so i probably wouldn't notice any difference. I may try it when i start working again in the New year

On 3 the divert comes out of inclusive minutes, and I never even get close to using them all .

All of our mobiles at work divert to out landline anyway, and they use some system where you just dial 000 to get to the office switchboard, so I think that they are on really cheap rates.

The nicest feature I have seen is that if I dial someones normal (ie office) extension number (eg 1234) from my mobile, it automatically dials their mobile.

I have a Motorola V525 on Vodafone which I use most of the time. I also keep my old Nokia 3330 in the car which at the moment has less than £2 credit on it from Orange.
The main reason for keeping my old phone in the car is that on very rare occasions I have forgotten to take my current phone out with me and it is good to have phone in the car just in case I break down in a remote location late at night.
What a pity that there is often no signal in remote locations!

I have 2, a Nokia 6210 for work, which is only turned on whilst I'm at (or supposed to be) work, and a Nokia 6310 for personal use. I could do to upgrade my personal phone to something a bit newer, but it has the advantage of fitting the carkit for the works phone. I drive a lot with my job, so a useful feature.

has anyone ever told you you can put 2 sim cards in 1 phone! just google for one like me and you will find one for example dual sim card

sell your phone, keep you work phone, no-one will every know.

Dual sims holders are a pain, been down that road. Only one can be enabled at any time. If you need seperate 2 phone numbers, eg work and personal, you have to keep toggling between the 2.

Do you have to cut out the sim card bit like on ebay? i would probably buy one if i can just insert them both in as they are and not cut the card.

Some you have to cut the card, some you dont.

Depends on the phone

I think i'll stick with just T-Mobile then in my phone as i was going to get a Virgin sim card and use that + my T-Mobile sim.

one phone always (o2 x3 / BenQ S700), but have got lots laying around the house in odd places...

Orange SIM stopped being recognised in the Nokia 5.1 / 2110
Virgin Mobile on a Siemens A50 (which strangely people keep thinking is an escort service - so we're binning that one)
Never touched Voda with a bargepole

I know Virgin are much cheaper than any other UK network for PAYG except Three but if you want high quality service go to virgin.

You have to carry a GSM phone if you have a 3 mobile! 3 are just so unrelaible I have their thing to make X/Net calls (when it can) and GSM for all incoming calls.

Depends on where in the country you are perhaps but in Central Scotland 3 is dead loss really.

I have 2 phones, 1 T-Mobile and one Movistar (Spanish). My parents live in Spain so I use my Spanish mobile a lot when I go over there, it was originally PAYG. The bonus is that they've now changed it so it's billed on their account (which doesn't seem to have any monthly charge for extra sim cards, only calls), which means if they call me in the UK (or if I call them, or anyone else) on it I don't pay anything for the call. Which is why I carry it around!
