Any Blackberry lovers still left?

I am late to the Blackberry game, only got my first Blackberry over Xmas after being a long time Apple and Android user and have to say I love it, for all I really use my phone for is email and social networking and Blackberry does it better than Apple and Android combined in my opinion, OK the display and camera are crap and it lacks apps but it does everything else so well, and battery lasts for ever, I can get 4 days out of it something that would never happen with an android or iPhone. Are there any Blackberry lovers left? or have they all jumped?

Not cool enough for most folk. Can't say I am a fan of blackberry phones with the physical keyboard, but thats just personal preference. I do have a playbook tablet and I love it.

Waiting to see what the new Blackberry 10 OS phones will be like as one version will be a full touch phone. Looks Promising.

RIM are in good company with regards to the lousy cameras, as neither Apple, Samsung, Sony or HTC do anything with a decent camera either.

I really do miss the old BB - had one as a works phone for years, and when given a chance thought I'd try the iPhone as an alternative.

There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that the iPhone is quite ridiculously bad as an email/corporate communications device. Battery life is terrible, typing a long email is horrible. I really do wish I could go back and start using the old BB again.

Also have the Playbook, which is definitely a better all round device than my Nexus 7 (although sons prefer the selection of games on Android).

I loved my blackberry pearl when I got it. BBM was/is fantastic but most of my friends ditched their bb's and went to apple or android so I jumped ship too. It was a great little phone though.

I used to have a bold 9700, then a torch 9800, then a bold 9900. I did like them all, especially the 9900 but I missed the apps that I had used on android and iOS. I don't mean games.

I did start to carry round 2 devices, the 9900 and a desire s that I used for apps and for tethering but got bored of using 2 devices so much, so ditched the bold and went back to android.

I have a blackberry for business email, messaging, etc. No other phone os is considered secure enough in my area of work.

Sadly that view isn't strictly true any more - there are secure solutions for Android and iOS that satisfy high end government security requirements. I work at a place that has similar requirements, and they made the move to a 3 platform choice (Android, iOS and BB)

So I think your security team are both paranoid and wrong; its just that BB is a better solution if you're actually serious about communicating rather than just playing.

I've never had a BlackBerry, they've never appealed to me but my friend had one for a couple of years and she loved it.

Well, I'm not going to get into detailed discussion but we have yet to achieve government approval for the use of iPhones (although it is a work in progress). It has nothing to do with our security team, it is government accreditation.

Government have recently approved greater use of iPhones but have still put limits on the level of sensitive data.

I sold my iPhone 4S recently and went with a BlackBerry Curve.
Some advantages over 'smarter' phones, off the top of my head include:

Lower contract costs and no upfront fee for the handset.
Much longer battery life.
Less attractive to thieves

it also does texts and phone calls very well!

Ok, the browser is pants but I don't use the facebook or twitter, so that doesn't bother me.

The iPhone has clearance to Impact Level 3 (IL3)
Which is around local level council or police sensitive type data as well as low end government. ie Restriced
The highest publicised level is top secret (IL6)

Apple offers the second most secure OS for the goverment. RIM being currently the most secure.
Governments are currently working with Apple and the others to allow them to use non-RIM OS's for the highest level data to prepare incase RIM devices cease to exist in the near future.

I got a blackberry last year (9300) and loved it because of BBM, but it lacks apps, which Is a problem for me. Whereas the App Store is amazing with a huge selection. Blackberry also has a worse camera, and the browser is awful in many ways.

I'm currently using a BlackBerry and an iPhone, but spend a lot more time on the iPhone. I'm missing BBM and the keyboard though

I don't think apple do currently have clearance to IL3. Guidance has/will be released to support local risk assessment, but the iOS has not gained accreditation.

The last BlackBerry I remember is the PlayBook I have no idea what is going on with this company but I hope they will survive. It is very rare for brand these days to have such charisma as the brand BlackBerry.
