I am due a 3 month early upgrade with o2 on 16th Jan. Instead of getting an upgrade; am i able to move to a 12 month simplicity plan? I called o2 and i have received several different answers.

When you spoke the first time, you should have got the name of the salesperson and from where they are calling from as if you have a dispute you can say tat you spoke to A from and they told me C

It's not an upgrade, though, you're essentially changing tariffs which can be done at different times depending on the length of your contract. If you've only got 3 months to go before your contract is up then I'm sure you can change tariffs now.

If the OP is currently on a tariff with a handset then yes, it is.

When you enter a contract you have 7 days to decide whether you want to stay in that contract, after the 7 days if you haven' done anything you are locked in for the 12 month or 24 moth period.

Before your contract is up say 2 months before, your mobile provider rings you to offer you a better deal.

Maybee they are ringing the OP to offer him a better deal?

In short OP you can move on to a simplicity deal come your upgrade.

Only if they want another handset. If they just want to change tariff then that's all it is... a change of tariff...

ETA: Sorry, I see what you mean, now. As the Simplicity tariffs are specifically tied to not having been given a handset, the OP may have to wait until their contract is up to downgrade to that as their current tariff is tied to a handset.

If they wanted to move to another tariff, not one on Simplicity, then they could.
