I didn't think she was edited very well on the show. The first time she was in the boardroom (Week 5) she was criticised for being very cold, and I was like, 'Is she? I hadn't noticed.' And then she was fired two weeks later. I don't know what the cold thing was about, because I didn't think she was noticeable for being that, or for that matter anything else. A pretty forgettable candidate really, that is if I ever forgot an Apprentice candidate (which I don't.)
Although, I did not realise that Sugar donates his entire fee to charity! That's quite admirable, he really is a philanthropist, isn't he? |

She the only one i know of from the Apprentice who has had a successful TV career out of the Apprentice , she has really blossomed as a comedian on Irish Tv . She could not be further from the cold hard image the BBC created of her in the Apprentice .

There are many other Apprentice people who have done that. Saira Khan has done documentaries and presented Beat The Boss on CBBC, which pitted professionals against children to come up with new kids' products. Ruth Badger has had a series of shows on Sky One, and has been a panelist on Big Brother's Little Brother and Eight Out Of Ten Cats. Katie Hopkins did I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here! and is a favourite on debates/political discussion shows because of her strong and outspoken views. Kate Walsh has presented Live From Studio Five and OK! TV. Stuart Baggs was on Pointless Celebrities and is a regular panelist/reporter for Big Brother's Bit On The Side. I've seen more from all these people than from Jennifer, but maybe that's just because she's just on Irish TV.
You really should check out some of Jennifer`s shows, as she is a truly clever and funny young woman . |

That sounds like a long list of cameos on trash tv.

Not true at all, Jennifer may be doing a lot in Ireland but she's completely forgotten about in the UK, in fact I didn't even know she'd done anything after the show. All the names that george.millman mentioned have become recognisable faces on TV, I wasn't watching The Apprentice around Series 2 and had no idea about anything or anyone from it but I knew about Ruth Badger from her own TV show. I used to watch Beat The Boss when I was younger as well so knew Saira Khan already, despite not knowing anything about The Apprentice yet.

I appreciate this may be hard to take in , but there are people all over the world having successful tv careers that UK tv viewers may never have even heard of. In fact people who UK viewers would think are world famous stars, like Holly Willoghby ,Keith Lemon, or the bloke who plays Phil Mitchell, can walk down a street in the US or Japan without anyone having the foggiest clue who they are. Doesn`t mean they don`t have successful tv careers though does it?

That has more to do with the BBC & ITV in the UK using slick editing to create " Cartoon Villain " image's for their reallity show contestants,To the point that they ignore the talent thats under their nose . My guess is that Jennifer Maguire was just as funny on the Apprentice as she is now on Irish TV but the BBC were too busy trying to make her look like Cruella Deville to spot the talent

I`m sure the woman will be deeply upset that you have forgotten all about her. But it doesn`t alter the fact that she has fashioned a highly successful tv career for herself ,totally separate, and unconnected to her appearance on the British version of the Apprentice. Most people wouldn`t even realise she appeared on that particular show as it was many years ago and would have had tiny viewing figures in Ireland.

That isn't what he said. He was pointing out that Jennifer may be successful in Ireland, but in the UK, the people that I mentioned (Saira, Ruth, Katie, Kate and Stuart) are generally considerably more well-known on television than Jennifer. . |

I don't know what they're starring in at the moment, but then I don't watch a huge number of different programmes, and I generally only do BBC. I was clear that I haven't seen most of these things myself. I think quite a few of them do things 'from time to time'... Katie Hopkins for example does not have a regular show, but is a regular panelist on things like Question Time, BBC Breakfast and Daily Politics. The same goes for Stuart Baggs. I believe Kate Walsh has done quite a lot - I haven't personally seen her on anything else apart from an episode of The Big Questions, but from what people have said, she has done quite a lot of successful TV shows - after all, Sherlock_Holmes has heard of her TV career. Ruth doesn't do TV anymore - there was a time when she did quite a few shows on Sky One as I said, but now she runs a consultancy firm. Saira as I said used to present Beat The Boss, and about a year and a half ago made a documentary about her own experiences of adopting abroad called Saira's Story.

Well all that is very interesting, but i don`t see any of it adding up to a successful tv career.

No, that's a different Kate Walsh. This is the one that we're talking about:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kate_Walsh_(presenter) Well, what's your definition of being a successful TV personality? To be well-known for it in your country? Or further out than that? If it's the first one, all of those people are successful TV personalities, because they're all reasonably well-known in the UK. If it's the second one, then they aren't because they probably aren't known outside their own country but then Jennifer isn't either, so it's either one or the other. A successful tv career? Well i guess somebody who regularly produces, writes, acts, sings, or presents there own tv shows. Someone who has made a profitable full time career from these tv shows. Someone who is in regular employment with these tv shows. Most importantly, someone who is still currently doing all of the above. Silly discussion though, as Jennifer`s success has literally nothing to do with the Apprentice. She is a comedian and makes a living making people laugh. Her appearance on the Apprentice has probably hindered more than helped her...`Oh you`re that Jennifer Maguire, the miserable cow off the Apprentice` . You can imagine she left that off her cv when she went looking for comedy roles. She really is a different proposition to those other people you mentioned, who will have only got tv work because of their appearance on the BBC show. |

No, sorry, never heard of the first lady. Doesn`t mean she isn`t a successful tv personality, just that i personally am not aware of her work.

And your idea that someone who has had a successful TV career is someone who is still doing it is pretty moronic, because that means that no matter how much they do and how long they do it for, the moment they stop doing it they are no longer successful. That obviously makes no sense. |

Look, I don't care whether her success now has anything to do with her appearance on The Apprentice or not. It really makes no difference to me. I brought up the subject of Saira, Ruth, Katie, Kate and Stuart in response to Jj2's comment, 'She the only one i know of from the Apprentice who has had a successful TV career out of the Apprentice'. I'm not denying that Jennifer has been successful in Ireland - though I have no idea how successful she is -, I'm just saying she's far from the only person to have done so, and listed several other people who have also had fairly successful TV careers from it. All the rest is water under the bridge.

I am not getting emotional, I am explaining to you why I said what I said, and why I think that some of what you have said is entirely irrelevant to what we're talking about. I am not getting emotional, merely stating my opinion.
Hey, it`s really not hard to understand. The person who is mentioned in the op has an ongoing, successful tv career. The people you mentioned do not. I appreciate that this upsets your world view as you found her so forgettable, but it really is a fact. |

You claimed that i was being moronic, and i consider that getting emotional, as it is not a term used in the course of a normal civilised conversation.

I appreciate that this upsets your world view as you found her so forgettable, but it really is a fact. And for the record, it does not 'upset my world view' that Jennifer has become successful. I'm happy for her that she has become successful, good for her! Why would I be upset that someone who isn't well-known in the UK is well-known in Ireland? That would be a really stupid and pointless thing to be upset over. |
