Youtube HD on PS3?
Is it possible to stream from youtube on the PS3 in hd?
I've tried going to youtube.com on the browser but the quality is appalling, both sound a visual. Any ideas? |

You can navigate to the real youtube site (not the horrible version they try to make you use on PS3) and choose HD streams but in my experience it still has never worked very well. Bit daft considering there's a dedicated YT app for Vita that even includes HD as an option, you'd think they would work something out for PS3 (although hacked consoles with CFW can use the site no bother with a very impressive plugin made for Showtime media player).

I normally use http://www.ps3youtube.com for streaming in HD.

First of all create a new ps3 player (can be done in the left on the XMB). Then go to the register a new psn account, using a different ID & email from your UK account
When you arrive to the address field, then paste this: Street Address 1: "Microsoft Corp" Street Address 2: "1290 Avenue of the Americans" City: "NY" State/Province: "New York" Postal Code: "10104" and then just follow the rest of the registration program, and now you have actual, created an American PSN account, and now have the ability to download american downloadable contents, like new demos, and trailers. You can then switch between the 2 by clicking on users |

It's a really good app, shame you have to go through a back door to get it. Much, much better than using the browser.
