I saw a similar thread on WalfordWeb, so I decided to do one for this forum.

Thank you for this thread.

Sarah Phelps was the best writer in my opinion.

I think Lorraine Newman needs to get more good writers like Sarah Phelps - but sadly I don't think it will happen

I think she will come back eventually. She's always maintained that her relationship with EastEnders isn't over.

She was asked to write Sean Slater's leaving episode but she had other projects she was working on.

I didn't realise how many different writers EE have recruited so far this year.Experimental phase perhaps ?
Seems to be a different writer with every episode.

That happens a lot with EE< they like giving new writers the chance to show what they can do.

All of them have written episodes for the show before. EastEnders does have the largest writing team (most of them are freelance).

Agreed her eps are really spot on. I think I heard her say shes not been able to write dot yet! Her ep count could do with increasing. She knows how the characters tic and how to please an audience. She understands the chatacters
