How do i turn the sound off for notifications i.e emails, facebook etc etc. I only want a sound for when i get a text message, i've tried so many things and to no avail, it's driving me nuts..........

Settings/Applications Manager, go to each individual app you want to change & turn off notifications.

I normally turn off the EMAIL to automatically come through or refresh every hour or so.
It saves the battery and EMAILS are not that important to most of us so that we need to know as soon as we get a new one?
