I
Also I really dislike it when people say that Olympians shouldn't be n the limelight & in the media and on TV shows. I just don't understand this point of view - they have worked hard & made sacrifices for years so let them enjoy their time in the limelight. someone remind me what Matt's done for most of "last year" after being dropped from the only role he's done of any note (having only played that for less than a year) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matt_Lapinskas#Filmography |

I hope beth wins but I think it will end up being Matt.....depends who has the final say Judges or Public!
Bolero they comment on but don't mark and in theory it is purely down to who the public want to win. The judges are obviously going to keep shoving how wonderful Matt is down our throats and give him perfect scores etc so hopefully the GBP will see past that and vote against the manipulation. I truly hope Beth wins from the few clips I have seen from diamond1's link to the interviews she has come across the best and its her routines that I want to see especially the Bolero. |

I'll rather have an enthusiastic and talented young lad like Matt win than another Olympian who's already had their spell in the limelight last year.
I'm sure the contestants would all HATE that idea. I will watch the skating and decide who I want to win based on that. It is going to be between Matt and Bath. Luke has done very little to impress me so far. |

I have nothing against Olympians winning if they show the same enthusiasm and commitment to the show like other celebs who don't have the advantage of being Olympic athletes.
Matt works hard, strives to improve and shows a real love for ice dancing. Beth on the other hand seems reluctant to stretch herself and is always highlighting her limitations. E.g. when given the hula hoop, she moaned that it was difficult for her because she was an artistic rather than a rhythmic gymnast. I don't know how Beth's fans can say she's a good skater when she's usually carried around on the ice by Dan while doing gymnastic poses. They keep making excuses for her lack of skating by blaming T&D but T&D can only choreograph what Beth is willing and able to do. Even Luke has improved more than Beth IMO. He does more skating than Beth plus he has to lift Jenna and I admire how well he's done despite not having had the advantage of being an Olympic gymnast like Beth. |

Matt for me is the one who hasn't progressed - he was good at the start but he hasn't fixed his flaws e.g. his posture |

I won't vote for Matt, I really do not like him - he's cocky & arrogant, & hasn't improved throughout the series.
Out of the 3 finalists, my vote to win goes to Beth, but may chuck one in Lukes direction because he's tried hard, clearly improved &, has a go back at Jason!! - oh, & in the vain hope that it will put Matt in third - anything to prevent having an 'urban' Bolero, which is undoubtably what he'll do as it is pretty much all he can do. |

Mine too.
An Olympian who has trained since the age of seven to achieve what you call her spell in the limelight. Beth isn't just some flash in the pan wannabe whose sole ambition is to 'be famous.' She's one of Britain's most successful ever athletes - a credit to her sport and an inspiring example for young gymnasts countrywide, using as she does her 'spell in the limelight' to give something back to her sport. Not for her the tears or air thumping - no front page interviews about a broken romance, nary a reference to her nan etc; just good old fashioned hard work and dedication: those work ethics that seem to have been lost in the drama of this series. BETH FOR ME. |

Matt for me too. He's an exciting performer and the only reason I've continued watching this series.

As for winning gold at consecutive Olympics several times - come in Sir Steve Redgrave - multiple gold winner. That was just sheer greed. Why didn't you all give someone else the chance to shine? |

So it's not fair that an Olympian should win more than one gold at a single Olympics - shame on you Mo Farrah and Kelly Holmes - not to mention the cyclists!

Matt for me is the least improved skater and Luke the most improved. If Matt had made the same progress as Luke he would be the runaway winner I'm sure.
I hope Beth wins but that's up to the voting public most of whom don't frequent these forums. |

So presumably you've forgotten the week Matt skated to classical music then? That was one of the best performances of this series IMO! I suspect he's gone back to his trademark style as his votes seemingly collapsed that week, the public don't like different.
![]() It's not that the public don't like different he obviously wasn't adaptable enough to capture the publics vote and attention. Others have been consistently forced out of their comfort zones to do stuff they don't really like. Luke doesn't appear to like the slower stuff but he has been made to do that and Beth is fab at the lyrical stuff but not as comfortable with the OTT performance stuff but she has been made to keep doing more of that style and then gets slated for being predictable and doing the same thing yet Matt keeps getting to roll about the ice and gets oodles of credit for it. |
