Is it good to get a extended battery for the S3?
(LTE Version)
Anybody got any opinions about buying another battery? I proud to admit I now have a S3 (LTE) and I bought this: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...E:L:OU:GB:3160 I not sure if it's the best extended battery out there or not though. It's defo made my phone a lot heavier with the thicker battery and what not which is a good thing for me as I do tend to lose things

usually batteries from China sold on ebay are nowhere near their mAh reading and usually perform poorly.
Saying that i've used a company called Anker and they do live up to their word. But most others are crap. If you're happy with the battery life you have now with this one then there is no need to change. If you do want a different one then i'd recommend this one- SEE BELOW FOR LINK> Anker are the only brand i'd buy from. |

The 1 I got came from UK (Ordered it on thursday and it came today) Not bad turn around from order and delivery) It does seem to be doing not too bad so far as I put it in about half 10 this morning and it had about 58% left and it's now at 47% I guess that's good?

Is that a referal link? As I believe that's a banable offence on this site?
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Anker-4400mA...dp/B009SY85XS/ It's not my referal link though. It's from a forum. I just copy and pasted it here. Still recommend anker though. |

I considered an extended battery, but I prefer to use one of these.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/5600mAh-Exte...7481517&sr=1-3 It gives me well over two charges with the phone switched off, but you can have the phone switched on obviously. That means three full charges if you leave with a fully charged handset. While it does involve having to connect via USB, I don't find it a problem. If you have to make a phone call then you can charge sufficiently to do that pretty quickly. In any case, with a short micro USB cable you can hold both the phone and battery in one hand easily, if it's ever necessary - although I've only had to do it once. This model (5600mAh) is very light and I hardly notice it in a pocket - in fact I doubt I'd notice another one either. For that reason I've been considering buying more. There are larger (and smaller) versions for those who need more power, but the thing about having two is that you can distribute the weight and bulk. Having two lighter batteries in different pockets seems preferable to me than having one larger battery in one pocket that is more noticeably heavy. However the bigger versions do allow charging of two items simultaneously, or one item more quickly - I guess that might be useful to some people, That is also why I prefer this solution to extended replacement batteries. I find it preferable to keep the slim and light profile of the S3 and have extra power if I need it, rather than being permanently saddled with the extra bulk of the replacement battery, when in reality there are many times I won't need it. There's also the bonus that you can charge anything else that can be charged via USB - other phones, laptops, ipods etc. There's even a handy flashlight function as well! Having owned one for a month or so, I fully recommend it. |

I still got 34% left on this battery (still not charged it yet) waiting to it dies completely. Had wifi on some and what not and still going strong. Funny enough I doing a test on my old xperia play. Yesterday I looked and that battery was at 88% Now it's at 84% but that's not getting used or anything now just sitting there stationery

It occurred to me that rather than carry a spare, if I was going to carry around a source of extra charge, it would be more convenient to carry an external battery than a replacement one. They can be light and portable, there's no need to switch off the phone in the middle of something, or to open up the phone and remove any cases (which isn't as easy as it should be in some cases) and you don't have to be careful carrying them, as they're designed to be carried around, unlike spare batteries. Moreover, you can get much more juice from an external and you can charge a range of other phones and devices as well. |

I find this thread quite humorous. There was a debate a while ago about how much better having removal battery was. I was never convinced as I've used a power monkey for years (although the device you have linked to looks a lot better and cheaper).
As you say, the major benefit is that it can be used with any device. The N4 for example. |

Like kidspud, I also have a power monkey. Have a variety of adaptors, so I can charge my iPhone, S3, Kindle etc.
Well worth it, great device. Better than messing around with changing batteries! |

I use a similar charger:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B...ls_o01_s00_i00 nice thing (other than the 9000mAh ) is it has a built in microusb connector cable so you don't need a separate cable to charge your Android devices..
