So we now have our final 3, but who will go on to take the Ice Star title? Will our lone American triumph? Will the lights go out for our boyband star? Or will the comedian have the last laugh?
For the final, you will each perform 2 skates - a "Showdance" as such, and one routine from the series that you feel you can improve on. After the vote has closed for the first time and the contestant in 3rd place is eliminated, the remaining 2 couples will then be set a mystery challenge . After this performance, the vote will close for the final time and the winner will be announced.Songs for the first 2 skates need to be PMed to me by 8PM WEDNESDAY I will notify you on Wednesday night about the mystery challenge.

Apologies for not sending the PM on Wednesday, it will be sent to you this afternoon
![]() Welcome to the final of Ice Stars! Last time, we lost Jamie & Brianne after David threw his own couple under the bus now, just 3 couples remain. They will all skate an improved routine and a Showdance - the voting will then open, and after the couple in 3rd place has been eliminated, the top 2 will take on the mystery challenge . I will give only one clue about that - if you've seen Twists & Sequins, then you will have some idea......

Round 1 - the Improved Routine:
Rebecca & Pavel - "Another Way to Die" by Alicia Keys & Jack White Robin - 9 Jason - 8.5 Katerina - 9 Making a total of 26.5 out of 30 Jason - The reason I gave a slightly lower mark than the others was because there was some hesitation on your new drape lift, like you hadn't positioned yourself correctly at first. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Scott & Vicky - "Gotta Be You" by One Direction Robin - 9.5 Jason - 9.5 Katerina - 9.5 Making a total of 28.5 out of 30 Katerina - One tiny mistake in the middle meant that I couldn't give a 10. However, your skating is very exciting to watch and I'm looking forward to your showdance. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ben & Frankie - "Get Ready" by The Temptations Robin - 9 Jason - 8.5 Katerina - 8.5 Making a total of 26 out of 30 Robin - You've been a solid performer for many weeks but tonight you've really upped your game and you are definitely in the same league as the others. |

Round 2 - the Showdance:
Rebecca & Pavel - "Proud Mary" by Ike & Tina Turner Robin - 10 Jason - 9.5 Katerina - 10 Making a total of 29.5 out of 30, and the first 10s of the series! Robin - Absolutely brilliant. The way that you attacked that routine was perfect, you didn't let the mistake earlier affect you, and you've set the bar for the others. Well done. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Scott & Vicky - "Til the World Ends" by Britney Spears Robin - 9.5 Jason - 9.5 Katerina - 10 Making a total of 29 out of 30 Jason - Not completely flawless, but you have probably been the most consistent out of everyone here. You're not afraid to take on some of the more risky lifts and tricks, and I have to say that that blur spin was fantastic. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ben & Frankie - "Bat Out of Hell" by Meat Loaf Robin - 10 Jason - 10 Katerina - 10 Making a total of 30 out of 30, our first full score. Katerina - I'm so glad that the other judges agreed with me, as you gave us everything Ben. You gave us speed, you gave us lyrical, you gave us dramatic - all executed perfectly. You have certainly done yourself and Frankie proud tonight. |

We were meant to have the mystery challenge now, but neither mentor has sent me a PM for it.
The challenge was to devise an Oriental-inspired routine to the song "Butterfly" by smile dk. They would have to include costumes, props and staging. The routine that scored the highest would give that mentor an extra 2 votes. So no extra performance, therefore VOTING HAS REOPENED. ANYONE CAN VOTE. IF YOU HAVE VOTED BEFORE THAN YOU MAY VOTE AGAIN. To vote, please rank our top 2 (Scott & Vicky and Rebecca & Pavel) and PM those rankings to me by 9pm, where we will announce our winner. |

Sorry Amy, only just got in so missed the mystery challenge completely.
![]() Shame about Ben but Rebecca and Scott have been the top two contenders throughout so they're probably the two most deserving winners. |

Ok everyone, the votes for the top 2 were tied, so I've had to use the previous vote (for the top 3) to decide the winner.
The winning couple, of Reality Check: Ice Stars is............. SCOTT & VICKY Congrats to them and their mentor Val you've finally done it! But commiserations to Rebecca & Pavel and their mentor David - there was just one vote in it.

Well, that finishes the series off. It didn't go as well as I had hoped
but I will try again with a second series later this year.I'd like to thank anyone who has watched this thread and the game - it's one of my first ventures into the DOI foums, so I hope that this has been appreciated by some of you. I'd also like to thank all of the mentors - Eliza, Toni, David and Val. This game couldn't have gone ahead without you and I hope that at least one of you might be back for series 2 later in the year. Thank you for reading, and good night!

Well done to Scott.
Hopefully you'll do this again - but I'd advise having it in the SCD games forum to drum up a little more interest!

Well done Val
, although I do regret not getting rid of Scott when I had the chance! And thanks to Amy for the game; I particularly enjoyed the dance crazes and sabotage weeks. It's a shame there weren't many votes but as Stig said it's probably just because the usual SCD voters didn't know about the game.
