"Richard Hammond's Secret Service"
Well I love Richard Hammond and like Total Wipeout and many other shows that a lot hate...
But this new show is the biggest pile of Poo I have ever seen on TV. I'm actually embarrassed on behalf of the show. |

Its not terrible, but its not revolutionary either.
I like Hammond's humour, but its doing what it set out to do. |

The actual pranks are slightly amusing. The Richard Hammond filling material is a load of tosh

We know that Richard Hammond likes to prefix the title of most shows he is in with his own name, but surely even he would be too embarrassed to own this rubbish. An insult to viewers.

And now we have a 'That's Life' jobsworth type piece.

BBC3's Impractical Jokers isn't bad btw. Slightly different idea though, it's the jokers rather than the random punters you're laughing at. Oh bugger me, there's a living breathing audience. Oh dear, I like Clare Balding, so I won't be watching her doing a gameshow, I can't see how that's going to go well. |

Potentially good programme ruined by the Richard Hammond bits.
They need to cut him out and make it 100% voice over. I might give it a second chance then. I hate all that "faux-off-the-cuff" humour crap. |

It wasn't terrible but not the best prank show ever. I could see it doing a comfortable 3-4 million. Makes me miss Wipeout.

It really was awful wasn't it.
Richard (I'll present any old tosh for a few quid) Hammond should be very ashamed of himself. Candid Camera died a death in the 1960's, let it rest in peace. |

Am I mistaken but is this not more of a CBBC program not a BBC One Saturday prime time show?

The prank show hasn't gone anywhere and is unlikely to for the foreseeable. Dom Joly's try at the primetime prank show on ITV wasn't much copp either, from what I saw of it. Hey ho, Saturday 'primetime' isn't my usual territory, back to Tigers on BBC 4 for me. |

I thought the lift prank was the best, wouldn't mind being stuck in a lift with her for an hour.
Get on Youtube and watch Just For Laughs, you'll still be watching it an hour later! |

Embarassing
This just made me cringe. What is new about this programme?
We have moved on since the days of Candid Camera. |

Saw a bit of this and it looked pretty cronic. Parents who thought their daughter was marrying a prince and a pass the parcel with a pigs foot. A low for BBC.

All you can hope for is a new 'slant' on an old idea at best IMO. |

Oh well you lot can look forward to more of those poor comedy fillers bits. Oh well, cheery bye to Saturday primetime for me, haven't watched it properly for 20+ years, so no skin off my nose if it's $hite

Richard Hammond's Secret Service
"The last refuge" of a crap programme, in a desperate effort to get you to watch it, is to have a familiar name included in the title.

I'd expect that if you are a celebrity who fronts a show which is prefixed by your own name, then if it fails it should be seen that it is a failing on your part too. |

The 'jobsworth' was mildly amusing. He was dead right when Hammond turmed up and he told Hammond he was ruining it. He was dead right. Pretty embarrassing fare really.

Well this was total Carp as was that awful animal program on before it. What with that and Splash on ITV, I thought someone must have spiked my drink with class A drugs.

Hate to disagree
My family loved this show and were in tears of laughter throughout.
Great hidden camera stunts without victimising the people they were involving. |

I think your post confirms that the people the show is aimed at, i.e families and possibly kids, seemed to have liked it. It did what it was meant to do. I do think that the timelot was wrong and that it possibly alienated older viewers away from the channel.
