The Avengers is very much of a "I can't see what the fuss is about" type film, in my view that is. It's enjoyable, but I certainly think TDKR had it beaten.
The hunger Games is atrocious, sorry but it is. I just cant see any redeeming features in it whatsoever. I actually thought I was watching an episode of the Waltons in the first act. As for the costume design, egads. What the heck happened there? It took blimming ages to get going too. |

For me, it has to be 'The Dark Knight Rises'. I loved the previous two films but apart from the stadium scene, it just felt really flat.

I think that when the publicity dust settles and people are able to look back objectively they will decide that, although good movies, that TDKR, Skyfall and the Avengers were not as good as was initially made out. There's a lot a '5 star' reviews out their that with the benefit of hindsight will drop down to a 4 or possibly even 3. That's my own opinion; I expect to be proved wrong.
In terms of 'what popular film did I dislike'?, I would say that Skyfall was the big one. I wasn't expecting much from the Avengers and thought that it was enjoyable if a bit daft. I liked TDKR but I didn't think it was as good as TDK. However I completely failed to understand the appeal of Skyfall and didn't enjoy the experience. Though i'm not sure if my inability to 'get' these films is due to being too intelligent or too stupid. Giving I got a D for my English literature GCSE i'm guessing the latter

The Dark Knight Rises. I'm a big batman fan but it didn't live up to the hype.

But it wasn't "overrated" though, it was (rightly) panned.

Looper, what a crock of shit
So much potential with the time travelling cat and mouse type scenario, yet most of the film is set on a farm in the middle of nowhere

Prometheus was overhyped, not overrated. Anybody with 2 brain cells thought that film was a total abomination and should be consigned to hell.
Overrated? Avengers Assemble. |
