Sorry if this has been posted here before - I was on Amazon and under the MP3 version of Black Cherry it has 'Hairy Trees' listed as 'Hairy Toes'. Made me chuckle

I have listened to the album - once on the beach through headphones and again today while in the bath. It is very ethereal and orchestral. A very chilled album. It is like Seventh Tree and Felt Mountain but far less quirky/kooky and much more orchestral. I love it! 'Drew' is very representative of the sound and mood of the album.

I was wondering if Drew would be released today, but I can't see it anywhere.

Loving Tales Of Us.

Lush and utterly gorgeous, and, as other posters have said, more Felt Mountain/Seventh Tree, than Black Cherry/Supernature.

Number 3 in the midweek album chart too.

It really is a beautiful album. I wasn't sure on first listen but it's well and truly pulled me in now.

Drew-Ulla-Alvar-Thea is a great run of songs.

I cannot help but feel a little underwhelmed. It is what i expectd lush orchestral beautifully atmospheric and totally Goldfrapp. But that's just the point where once Alison and Will exceled at being unique an innovative they are now predictable and a little safe. Their output is consistently strong but i am tire dof their formula. It's always dance record followed by something chilled an ambient. I just wnat them to shake it up and surprise me again.

But other than that Tales Of Us is gorgeous.

I think "Tales of Us" is the 'spiritual' sequel to "Seventh Tree".
The songs would come under the same genre, however "Seventh Tree" is very much a chilled out relaxing album to listen to on a Spring Sunday morning.
"Tales of Us" is the complete opposite, it's something you'd listen to on a cold winters night. It's very dark (not in the lyrical sense, but in the mood it portrays).
To give the album a smoother ending, I added 'Yellow Halo' as track 11 and 'Melancholy Sky' as track 12 on my iTunes library, and it runs smoothly.

Yeah that is sort of the problem the only difference is the mood and atmospher in a lyrical and musical sense it is ground they have already treaded and then some. As for the two tracks you emntion not two of their best

Yeah, it's a good album to listen to late at night - I was wrapped up in bed the other night with my headphones on and the album sounded brilliant. One way I'd describe the album is intimate. I also think the album cover art is perfect.

It is a beautiful record, perfect for this time of year with Autumn and Winter coming. Alison has one of the best voices.

They are on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon on CNBC this week, Sky ch 505 this Friday 23.00 - rpt Sat 20.45. Hopefully performing.
