Excuse me for not knowing who Tegan & Sara are before.
Apparently they've been around for 7 years but I'm guessing 2013 is gonna be their year if this is anything to go by.

CLOSER

What do you think? ... You like?
Any info on Tegan & Sara that you can add?
Or are you like me & are a new fan!!!?

"Heartthrob" the new album out January 29, 2013

These girls NEED their big break!!!

I hope they do well.. The charts needs an act like this!

I don't like it. Also are they twins or lesbians..or both (but not with each other: O)?

Apparently been around for ages? They have been since 1999 and have seven albums to their name. They are rather good actually. Heard them years and years ago.

Yes they are sisters and lesbians but that doesn't matter.

I do adore 'I just want back in your head'.

They've been tipped for big things every year for about 10 years

I like Tegan and Sara. I first heard them five or six years ago when I used to watch Soccer AM and they played Walking with a Ghost a lot.

They've been tipped for big things every year for about 10 years
This is true, though. They have a loyal enough fanbase to keep them going.

The best thing about Tegan and Sara is the song by NoFX. It really pissed off the T&S fans

Creeping Out Sarah - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PDQZQMuahtg

I was backstage at a festival in Germany
talking to a cute fair skinned brunette
I asked her if she wanted to have a beer and if she liked our set
I noticed that her hair was longer in the back
I figure that’s cuz she’s Canadian
That’s why I was surprised when she told me she was fully lesbian

That's when I realized it was Sara, or maybe it was Tegan
I'm pretty sure that it was Sara
Cause Johnny Sampson said she was the cooler one

I told her I was a big fan of her band
She asked me if I had a favorite song
I admitted that I'd never actually heard them, but I like K.D. Lang

I told her this Jew knows about the Juno’s
And how they got robbed three times in a row
And then I asked her if she knew of anyone who was selling pills or blow

That's when I creeped out Sara or maybe I just pissed her off
When I asked her if her sister and her had ever had a threesome?
Where they both ganged up one girl, a fourgy or a fivesome?
Do they think strap-ons are groovy, and had they ever seen the movie
Bound and did they like Jennifer Tilly, did they like Jennifer Tilly?

Sara said she preferred Gina Gershon, Angelina Jolie
In the Gia movie that was on HBO
And “If These Walls Could Talk” made Tegan cry a lot
After that I forgot what she said
That's the problem with Diazepam, so many things I don't remember
But I've got a sinking feeling, it's not that I'm a clairvoyant

But I think I creeped out Sara, I was creeping out on Sara
I hope it wasn't Tegan, cuz Skiba said she is the cooler one

They are twins and lesbians but not with each other. Apparently its quite common to have gay twins, I know two guys who are and they have a lesbian sister...anyway

Tegan and Sara are pretty good, they've had different vibes on different albums, here's

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_bqL8o6SxUo Speak Slow, from So Jealous
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=soJtF3F5t2k The Con (my personal favourite) from the album of the same name and
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Va9uOHGZskg Call It Off from the same album
and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y0LO6v43YCo Feel It In My Bones, a track by Tiesto they feature on which is pretty chill and ambient and awesome

Theyre pretty good in that they write all their own music and theyre known within the gay community at least, due to being lesbians, as role models. Theyre quite young too, they'd only be in their 30s now I think..

I've been a fan of them since about 07 when I heard them on late night radio doing a cover of Bruce Springsteen's Dancing in the Dark..which is on youtube now, great - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UFCQaCefgdk

I liked their more guitar-based stuff.

However, I don't blame them for going all-out commercial - they do have decent pop songwriting skills and I think they've written for other people.

Did that video remind anyone else of Haim?

It really does yeah.

Already, I think, it's one of my favourite T&S tunes. Weird!

I've known of them for awhile but nothing comapres to 'Walking with the ghost'. So i now just disregard anything new they release as it's never promising.

Yeah, that makes sense as they have the same genetics.

I've waited for them to release an album that blows me away for a while, but alas it's never happen. For a band of similar sound and style First Aid Kit's 'The Lions Roar' from last year blow away anything T&S have penned so far in my opinion.

Hope people don't mind me bumping an old thread, but just wanna say I'm quite surprised that 'Closer' never became a hit. It's my favourite song of 2013 (even though it was released in 2012). I still wouldn't rule it completely out though! It started generating momentum in America recently, peaking at #18 on their Airplay chart. It seems too good a song not to do well.
