Hi There

Can anyone help me here and before I begin Im happy with Windows Movie Maker and dont wish to change programmes,

For about a week everytime I close movie maker and re open it, there are no thumbnails on my files so I did a system restore and that fixed the problem as soon as I close and re open again there's no thumbnails once again. is anyone able to provide me a solution to this problem is it one of the codecs not right or something?

Anyone who can help will be grately appreciated

Best Wishes
Dan

Personally, I'd recommend NOT using Windows Movie Maker at all, and use a different video editing package instead.

OP run windows explorer and choose Tools, folder options. One viewing option is to do with thumbnails. You can set the chosen view for all folders. I find that this is one of the bad things about Windows 7, that it does not work properly. But I do not think your problem is movie maker, I think it is Win7. Anyway try it.
