Also, if we have this management team to thank for improving her image then hats off to them.

Plus since the other people they manage are basically fodder she can get their sole focus.

N Dubz got a lot of big gigs and were successful and Tulisa did have a lot of opportunities like I said.
Exactly, I don't think we should panic about her management just yet. I said it earlier too that they did get N-Dubz alot of promotion and as you say her image has improved since she left Modest, so they could be responsible for that too.

Okay. I've calmed down & I'm gonna wait to see a plan before I judge but if its UK release first.. I'll be literally done because I know they wont appreciate her

Her career will most likely be over after this era. What a waste of talent.

But I still have my fingers crossed. Like Rico said, she's only one hit away from getting back on top.

I gotta say though. Why in the ****ing world would you wanna sign with a management that handles the likes of Tulisa, Dappy and such? What are you ****ing thinking? This girl is ruining her own career. How do we knock some sense into her head?

They handled both Tulisa and Dappy's careers well though. The thing is when the singles are and album is bad, no amount of PR can save it (Tulisa). Alex may actually be in better hands then people think she is.

I kinda like Tulisa's album (some songs anyways), I'm a fan of hers

But hmm, I agree with Postbox, if we do have to thank this management for her style over haul and continuously having her in the spot light, then maybe it's not too bad...

I feel Alex should have done something in the US last year. With Cher, Olly, 1direction, Ed, The Wanted and The Saturdays doing the rounds out there it seems the US were receptive of new British pop acts. This year Gaga, Justin and Beyonce are making a return, all with albums coming out.

Alex has an amazing voice but for me she doesn't have her own personal sound yet the way many other acts do. She has been around for 6 years and should have found her sound and look by now and not still testing looks out, which is partly the fault of her management and her fault too.

She has been in the press more over the past 8 months for holiday pics, Celebrity Juice, parties, 1 Direction etc and less for her music sadly. For me it's the wrong type of press because it puts her in with the C listers.

People may feel Emeli has been everywhere this last year and are sick of seeing her, but her press has been all about her music and her management got her doing the right side projects (Olympics) and in the papers not for showing up to another opening, but her music, this has shown in her album sales this year. Her VT last night talking about how hard it's been for her to get where she is makes me a little annoyed with Alex as the X Factor gave her the head start and it's been squandered. How is it that acts like Emeli have found their sound and look so quickly and Alex is still trying to find hers?

All this 'tweem' stuff and such a lame name to boot is very strange. Never heard of an artist that has a separate fanbase from her other fans before.

I also think it's time for Alex to ditch her brother and her mother from her 'team' Beyonce saw it in the end and took control of her career.

tbh Tulisa was on EVERY show possible but maybe that was because of her x factor judge connection...

Dappy got a #1 single also.

I know there albums flopped but maybe that is because they are sh*t - Tulisa can't blame MGMT when she had an x factor performance promoting her album lol, she was shocking and that's that.

I wouldn't pre-judge MGMT by the artists they've got because Modest should have been amazing then................

Agreed. I don't understand why Alex still thinks she can wait around and take as long as she wants.

She might be waiting on confirmation as to whether she'll be supporting Beyonce on tour. That's the only reason I can think of as to why she's waiting around

Could be. It's not entirely her fault. Lots of people get shafted in the industry. Emeli took 5 years to make her sound folks, she just debuted now. She's been signed since 2009. Alex had issues with label politics, although some of it is her fault. We'll have to see. Emeli is a songwriter and has Capitol hammering her US campaign. She'll smash there by June. Alex needs to work harder on everything tbh. Timing takes too long. I don't know what's happening. It might all not even turn up. We shall see. I support her but she takes too long to make a decent record.

I'm close to giving up. I love her to bits and always will, but it's looking like her time is up. I don't think it's her fault...I think she's been very unlucky and also had a lot of people in the industry make bad decisions for her. She's obviously not going to the U.S. We would have heard something, there would have been some sort of an announcement or some small info would have leaked. If she was going to the U.S then she would not be signed up with that crappy management over here...it looks awful. Things are too quiet. Sorry, but I'm being realistic, I think her time is almost up. She's been recording so they'll be another album, but I bet they'll release it in the UK. It will flop if they do. Nothing whatsoever has been done to rectify things in the UK in terms of what people think of her. She could come back with an amazing album, but it will still flop as nobody currently gives two shits about her. The idea scenario was for her to go away, get a bit of success in the U.S and then return to the UK. It's not her her fault that all of this has happened...I believe she's tried like crazy to sort things out. It's pretty obvious now that it's not happening.
Sad, but it looks to be true. Her US management would be different though no? I feel for her though. I mean it's writing on the wall when you're not even on the red carpet for your home country.

Make the most of this album guys! If you wanna meet her make an effort to go to shows and radio tours because I've got a feeling this is definitely the last! Without US launch she is over and that is defo not happening!

Nothing will change for her until she gets rid of the yes men on the payroll and the family on the payroll. Girl needs some killer instinct and writing more of her songs. Song writing brings industry respect, credibility and extra money.

Just my opinion.

With ALEX alone as a person, I see a spark in her that's big enough to want to go for the US I really do.. Every few months we get shocked by who she's seen with she's in the RIGHT circles it's just she needs to stop this hiding and let us know 100% what's going on I want a full update because its all smoke and mirrors now

and she gave up on it.

Kelly Clarkson went head to head with Clive Davis to protect her music, her sound, and defend who she is as an artist and won.

Many artist go through that, the ones that are 100% sure of their sound won't be swayed.

Matt Cardle has managed to do his own thing now with a label that supports him, he is no worldwide susperstar but he's doing the music he wants and he fought for it.

Her knowing Beyonce doesn't mean success. Look at Rita Ora.They have put so much hype and money into that girl and she will flame out by 2014.

Most of the Brits winners and Grammy winners have been singer/song writers this year. The flashy pop acts are not getting as much awards as the early 2000s.

I agree she should have fought for it... Rihanna isn't getting grammy awards atm.. neither is katy perry, nicki minaj and all the pop acts.. it's singer songwriters with good music who have their OWN sound and who make the music they want to make!!! Not pop acts who are controlled by big money making labels. Alex needs to get back to her Overcome sound with some rnb + soul, the music she suits and hopefully wants to make... get some credit for writing her own songs etc

I said this before. She needs to really write. Elephant is a lyrical bop. She can do it, but she has to bring it. I pray she has bops I do. JaQuel knows his stuff. But someone is paying for this recording. It might even be her tbh. She's got enough $$ tbh. It would save her bacon to pay for studio time. It's a lot but it's worth it, it's like a financial safety net. She's starting to change, and the tweam stuff in 2011 might have filled her head with gas tbf. I'm glad they shut it down. She wasn't like that in 2010 at all. And now she's chilled again. She does need to write, it makes a lot of cash and saves a label it. Award winning is not a biggie, turning up, and performing is.
