Really can't understand why her dogs aren't trained - even just a little. Have always had rescued dogs and you put the time in to train them and they love it. So aren't a problem once you do that. Though in a sheep area you'd need to be very careful as that pact instinct can happen in a flash so leads are vital just as a completely escape proof garden which jones can afford surely.
Jones has talked about them destroying plenty of her possessions which I don't get because she tells the world she's OCD about tidying. So how do said dogs get to all of these neatly tidied away goodies???

Doesn't add up does it ?

Dare I actually say I am staring to feel a bit sorry for the poor old trout? Or has she relinquished all grounds for sympathy through her porkies?

I've written columns, and churning them out monthly is bad enough, never mind weekly, so I have a modicum of sympathy for Jonesy and understand why she might, uh, repeat herself now and then. The trouble is, because she uses - or at least purports to use - real people in her life and with such brutal "honesty", she deserves anything negative that comes her way. She likes to give the impression, till put on the back foot, that everything is fair game in her world, and that she shares everybody's secrets with lurid abandon. Of course she doesn't really, otherwise the Baker's business woes would be out there for all to see, and perhaps even more detail about her sister's drinking and money problems. But I don't understand how you can want to marry someone and yet portray them as a decrepit cretin in your column. It doesn't even come across as affectionate teasing.

I don't understand her animal issues either. Sure, she doesn't approve of farming etc but it's her fault when her dogs maul sheep. Nobody else's.

I started out feeling sorry for the woman too - but it didn't last very long!
Do agree Suzy, how can she be so unkind to her partner?
How on earth does he put up with it?
Who knows, I guess every partnership is different.
At first it was all completely wonderful and am sure she said how nothing David does could ever annoy her. Not like that these days is it!
Wonder exactly when it all changed.
Or, perhaps it was nic putting the boot in that did the trick. Can't remember when it all changed or why.

I started out feeling sorry for her but then thought she was perhaps a bit mentally deranged. Now I think she has more than the occasional half a glass of stolen prosecco.
She doesn't remember from one week to the next what she said before, so it's jumbled up rubbish. And that selfimportant attitude of hers, it's astonishing that anybody in her life speaks to her at all.
The phantom rock star had a lucky escape, and only partly due to his nonexistence. I half expect him to rear his ghostly head when David's ghostly hair is getting on her nerves

I'm sure that if Dscrace does not agree to a lavish wedding that is at least on par with the scale, duration and expense of the Clooney nuptuals, she will indeed bring back the world's most publicity shy rock star. Being upstaged by a man who does not exist should be the ultimate humilation to Dscrace but as we have seen, his capacity for being degraded seems to have no limits. It is notable that the comments for the Diary no longer have the gushing, devoted messages of support from her fans. I always thought that these were due to her 'animal lover' status, which in her fan's eyes made her a saint. They all seem to have disapeared now she hardly mentions having pets, if indeed she still does.

That's right the animals don't get much of a mention these days. Maybe, and it's only a theory, there's a touch of schizophrenics going on cos that would explain a lot. But it doesn't get her off the hook with the bad tempered unpleasantness or the looking down the nose at everyone not considered worthy enough.
Wouldn't it be great if the baker finally woke up and took off. He can't see what everyone sees : that he's become a victim. It's really not nice.

I know it's cheesey but couldn't resist...
You could say David's Midnight Storm Damaged
And if he did summon up the bottle to leave our Liz would become Midnight Strop Hair.

I'd say the menopause, an unfulfilled life, and years of being a picky eater is what making our Liz so erratic in her memories.

That, or she's just a piss-poor liar.

It's 2 or 3 years ago if irc that the Mail did a long feature on a prominent British actress who had been hospitalized with anorexia when she was a child, it was harrowing stuff anyway up til then I hadn't noticed liz saying she'd been hospitalized for the same (I could be completely wrong here), but not too long after the actress piece our Liz is telling David that she'd been sent somewhere quite well known to be hospitalized herself 're the eating disorder. Now call me a suspicious old goat but I did think hmmm?mm?mm?mm at the time.

Also having read various interviews it seems surprising to me that people attribute Liz's shape to anorexia. To me she just appears to be a tallish woman with a long neck and a slight pigeon chest thing going on which would be less obvious if the boob-age was still in place. To me she doesn't look waif like at all.
Reckon she's just a fuss pot when it comes to food and that's all. The rest is just drama.

Wonder whether "The Crisis" relates to the stalker story which is now on DM website.

(apologies. Can't cut and paste on this phone)

I notice she calls herself and Nic 'two single women' in that article

Yup, no mention at all of the bread boy.

Having had the experience of being stalked back in my youth (then it was seen as a bit of a joke by the local police) Nic has my full sympathy.

I know this makes me a terrible person, but the second thought that crossed my mind, after sympathy for Nic, was "it must have just crippled Jones not to be able to write anything about that".

Note also that...

1) Nic is no longer "my groom" or "my assistant" but an "animal behavioural therapist"...

2) As usual, although Nic is clearly the injured party, her employer manages to assume a position centre stage.

Do you know I was reading the article and about to give her the benefit of the doubt when all of a sudden she claims she is profoundly deaf. She has no idea what profoundly deaf means. It is a technical term which means you have no hearing below 95 decibels and could be without speech. A few weeks ago she was severely deaf which means you have hearing loss between 70 and 95 decibels. She is a bit hard of hearing. The irony is when she comes across someone who really is profoundly deaf she has no idea how to treat this person. She refers to them as" deaf and partially dumb" which is a really offensive term. I am not saying that this excuses Nic's stalker just that it negates everything she has written in the article and so any empathy is watered down or lost.

After reading the stalker piece I feel sorry for Nic, it's a lousy position to be in. Stalking just goes on and on until someone/thing else gets into the stalkers head and it really messes you up. Didn't think it was possible but feel sorry for Liz but I do because the only thing she can do to make this stop is to up sticks again which is a massive deal especially if you love your home.

I'm disabled (although not d/Deaf) and writers who start speaking for disabled for disabled people really bug me.

Not only does she clearly not have a clue about hearing impairments in general, did Nic really learn ESL "quickly"?

I also feel a lot less mean for not being the only person to pick up on the famous person and anorexia hospital admission.

Oops! And as a first time poster: hello everyone!
And obviously stalking sucks and if Liz's account is accurate the perpetrator should dealt with more harshly than with a light fine.

Remember THE CRISIS she mentioned aeons ago...in which she said she would name and shame the perpetrator? I think today's story is it.

I'm really really disappointed - there weren't enough pictures of Jones accompanying the article about her employee being stalked. That bared-teeth grimace that passes for a 'smile' - what's not to like?

Down our way, if someone's been rabbiting and been very lucky, they'll leave one on your doorstep as a gift. I suspect the same is true up Jonesey's way. So... where was the dirty baker when all this was kicking off? There are no reports of any of this in the local press. I imagine it was a quick Magistrates' job and criminal damage. I think she got off lightly. Personally. I would have preferred him to plead not guilty and call the entire population of Brushford as witnesses to her ****wittery.

While the stalker story is horrific, I can't help but wonder how Jonesy would have reacted in her column if another 'celeb' had written about being stalked. Would it have been similar in tone to her nasty piece about Joanna Trollope? The one where she suggests 'going gaga' is a lifestyle choice and not a biological disaster?

And maybe it's my cynical side taking over this morning but she does seem to have problems with neighbours trying to get rid of her wherever she lives.

Crisis update... the case had nothing to do with Jones. It was all Nic Bebb. Oh, and Jamie got a 12 month conditional discharge and paid COSTS of £100. Full details have emerged on the Northern Echo site.
