Found it - there is a posting from (I think) Fitness Queen in early March which refers to her getting herself out of trouble then by extending her mortgage. Also, at some time Nic wanted her to buy some extra land when the horses lost their lodging with the man next door.

I can only assume she intends to sell her novel or screenplay for millions to bail herself out again. "Sex in the City" meets "The Devil wears Prada"?

And for all she brags in the farticle about having to have her hair dyed in the most fashionable salon, in every picture I've seen of her hair, it looks awful - just a solid, ageing jet black (sorry, 'midnight storm') that looks dry and brittle. If she was paying for some amazing highlights or something I could imagine it would be worth it, but I don't believe it would look any worse done at the local regular salon or even with a home kit, and might look a lot better.”

I saw her in Richmond. The hair looks home dyed anyway. Very dark and matte. Not flattering. I am surge a local salon would save her the bother of getting it done in London.

In the deep recess of my brain I thought she recently said she was out of danger with the mortgage company and she didn't have to worry anymore. It wasn't THAT long ago.

As I understand it, by opting for an IVA rather than bankruptcy it protects your home. That is as long as you continue to make payments on loans secured on the property and the IVA repayments.
If she hasn't done this, then she could end up losing her house.
LJ being as she is, expensive salon trips and fancy candles would take priority over a secured bank loan

But she does say the bank's e mail says she must put her home on the market immediately and she tells Nic she is being made bankrupt? Possibly she now owes too much for the IVA to continue? She does seem to spend money like water.

I've got a feeling that if you owe the Tax man then an IVA can't protect you....

According to the government website, "Your IVA can be cancelled by the insolvency practitioner if you don’t keep up your repayments. The insolvency practitioner can make you bankrupt."

If she has failed to keep to her IVA arrangement, then she is even more of a fool than I thought she was.

I'd have more sympathy for the old trout if she didn't write articles deriding jealous people who live in Housing Association flats even as she lists her awful financial troubles. She is the most appalling snob and she doesn't seem to realise it. With one breath it's "everyone looks down upon hard-working me because I came from Essex rented pony blah blah" and in the next "poors are jealous of my jet-set fashionista lifestyle and don't understand my need for Harrods hair".

Failing to comprehend that Nic is, as an employee, entitled to lunch breaks and other health and safety-type human rights, also floors me. If Liz wants to work 27 hours a day typing a million words a minute (of which, curiously, only some 1000 are published weekly) then that is her choice. If Liz is unhappy with Nic's work ethic she can dismiss her. But we know she won't.

Possibly pertinent fact: a friend of mine worked in a high-profile role in fashion media for quite some time. Beauty treatments, hair, cosmetics, yadda yadda? Mostly free. When she ceased working in that role, what did she do? She *stopped having things like Botox* because, rightly, she figured they were too costly for her and her family's budget.

I can count the fashion articles I've seen with Liz's byline in the past year or so on one hand. I don't think she can justify spending megabucks on beauty as work-related.

Most of the "fashion" ones are about how badly she is treated now, 7th row etc. so did she quit doing fashion or was she dropped?

Also, if she's no longer "staff" but a casual, surely this makes a difference to what she can claim as legitimate business expenses? Possibly that's a part of her problem, if she's not in close contact with her accountant.

There was a period of time last year that Liz did many other articles in the Mail apart from her diary. I remember the one about M&S clothing, but she did plenty of them. I think the last one she did was back in October. I would have thought it was quite lucrative. I wonder why they suddenly stopped ?

As far as I am aware she was effectively sacked from the Mail and only "writes" for the MoS now. I think that was the beginning of her latest round of financial woes.

This week she listed all the bits she's had for nothing - Boots, freebie from Fiorentini and Baker; Bag, freebie from Marisota; Coat, freebie from Jaeger. I'm sure (although I can't find reference to it now) that she used to insist that she never kept freebies and always gave them away to Poors? And as she seems to have no link to fashion any more (the Daily Mail binned her before her stint on Big Brother so she only has the MoS diary & one weekly mad rant now) why are these companies even bothering? She has virtually no media profile at all and if she is ever occasionally photographed she looks dragged through a hedge backwards. Why would you want your beautiful merchandise displayed like that?

Marisota is a plus-size brand, isn't it? I think they do some clothes in smaller sizes but they also go up to like a 30 or 32. OK, so it's not like she's wearing any of their clothes, but with Liz's fixation on weight it seems strange that she'd want any association with them

I can't imagine any brand would want to be associated with the Lizzard, no matter how many of them she namedrops. And probably no surprise that she was dropped as fashion editor as she was apparently barred from half the fashion shows and seemed to alienate every designer or former colleague she came across.

Interesting that she lists various freebie clothes she's been given, and yet on the other hand we're supposed to believe she only owns one dress (the Victoria Beckham one she supposedly dyed and always goes on about) and two pairs of knickers.

Liz's Wikipedia page suggests she writes for BA High Life, but there's only one article on their website that she wrote (the one about Hong Kong) ... in 2010. So, yeah, the Dreary and weekly farticle really are all she has in print now

But but but..we have the NOVEL coming soon , and the screenplay..........the cheap rip off of sex and the city that she is so obsessed with,

I believe that is how she claimed she hadn't had a holiday for thirty years - all her holidays were apparently "work". Even her honeymoon.

The thing about the housing association flats, with GARDENS no less, is that she cannot afford a place in central London now, and so resents that there are places with rents that normal people can afford. It is not that those tenants are jealous of LJ but the opposite.

A lot of housing association and council flats on estates in London are being bought up by billionaire property developers and rented out at huge rents. The present tenants are unable to pay these high rents which causes them to have to move to cheaper properties.

I doubt Liz has cause to be jealous of them.

Oh no, that is awful. A friend of mine spent many years in a housing association flat - it was fantastic for her and her family. Small, but central and far better than the bedsit they'd been living in for some time. I hope hers is safe from these developer types.

Ah yes ... who could forget the dog's dinner she made when she replicated the fashion shoot for M & S by Annie Leibowitz of 'Leading Ladies', but wearing the clothes herself. Poor old M & S must have been demented when they saw the feature ... hmmm, aren't their women's clothes sales dropping down year by year ...?

Don't know if the DM 'letting her go' coincided with that disastrous 'Look at MEEEE' feature.

She said herself she was told not to go on CBB. She did and her work for the DM was history after that. (She also had a mad rant sometime before that about how she is more powerful than any editor)

The diary amounts to a drizzle of drivel about the clearly imploded "relationship" with DS. Whatever his motivation in becoming involved with LJ, a more unhappy chap is hard to imagine.

But we have a spoiler about the screenplay. The story would appear to include an "Indian" who is caught "cheating" by his wife. Sound familiar? If it's ever made, it'll go straight to DVD.
