Had a few moments today and watched this interview of Prince from 1999:https://youtu.be/m8mg7CxAYUM

What struck me was how much he felt that his calling was a spiritual one, and it comes across very strongly in this interview... and yet when it comes to Liz's perception of him, she totally misses the point. She has no idea who he is or what he stands for, despite having written a book about him.

Liz is 'in lust' with Prince, nothing more. She totally overlooks the essence of what he says whilst trying to extract herself from designer underwear and flaunt herself for his attention... I can kind of understand that when she was a pubescent teenager, but she's now in her late-fifties.

Someone else mentioned that she appears to be emotionally-retarded and is stuck in her teenage years. I'm sure they're right. .

What possessed her to say that ?

You can guess instead what you would not catch me reading under any circumstances. Ever. Pile o shite.

“I feel anxious if I haven’t got anything to do. Last Christmas I got in such a rage because the Daily Mail wouldn’t let me do I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here or Celebrity Big Brother and I’d signed the contract for both.”

So as it had previously been vetoed she can hardly claim to be shocked when she got sacked after appearing on CBB in 2014. I suspect she knew full well she would lose her job but was blinded by the £££££ and the thought of a convertible Mercedes.

“I’m a total Carrie, literally everything is the same. She’s never the one that men fancy; they want a Charlotte or Samantha. She’s too complicated.”

Did Liz Jones ever actually WATCH this series because I don't think there was ever a time when Carrie wasn't getting laid. And she had multiple serious love interests. She was the one that did the dumping most of the time.

The character she's talking about is Miranda, and even Miranda managed to have multiple sexual partners and Steve.

Well one thing she is: consistent. That Stylist interview churns out the same deluded shite and lies as ever. I'M SO LOVELY ABOUT PEOPLE BUT WHAT ABOUT MEEEEEE.

Thanks for providing that interview.
As usual dripping with self pity.
Wait til she's a pensioner, she'll never shut up about her aches and pains, even though she's had healthy career and all the rest. Some people just don't know they've been born.

Some people need to have surgery from when they are little tots, all through their lives, not Lizbot.

Bigger picture, what on earth does she have to complain about ?
A big fat nothing in reality.

My goodness. It's difficult to believe that she would have thought it OK to allow that interview, and now I feel a bit guilty about my utter loathing of her writing, because the weird and mutually contradictory things that she said during the interview do perhaps suggest that she has a serious psychiatric problem.

I know you are being kind and sympathetic here, but please don't be taken in by this woman. She has no regard for her fans as she's prepared to be completely dishonest in print over and over. There are many examples through this thread.

This is why I simply don't understand the Mail. I suppose she could have presented a false front to readers, but surely not to the management and staff? According to the Sty6le interview, they very clearly told her she must not do CBB, but she went in presumably hoping she would get away with it because of her financial problems. However, they had no compunction and sacked her. There must be no connection between the DM and the MOS or the MOS would have sacked her as well, or are they keeping her on really just to keep an eye on her?
She has talked before about thinking how hideous she looked at a very young age (6/7) and I think that's totally unnatural in a normal child. Was it her way of getting attention as the youngest in a large family? I really don't know, but I am sure the DM and the MOS are behaving in a shameful manner to a member of their staff who very evidently does have problems and needs help.

I'm not certain, but I strongly think she's a freelance journalist - but probably has a contract with the MoS. Therefore not strictly an employee.

I agree though - she does sound in an awful state right now.

I don't know if any of you have had the joy of this week's Private Eye... but there's a small piece about her finances. It ends with this paragraph:

"...But the creditors in her much-chronicled bankruptcy have been given a slightly different vision. Late last year they accepted her proposal to pay off her debts, as documented exhaustively if inconsistently in her column, at the rate of 24.82 pence in the pound. They were also offered this startling confession: "I would like to make my creditors aware that my column and any other article I write is ficticious. It is my job to write about an extravagant lifestyle. My professional persona and my real persona are significantly different, particularly financially.""

So there we have it.

And yet she says she only writes the truth. So which is true?

Then why did she have to send her car back and why is she having to sell her house?
I have no idea what her total debt is, but, compared to her income from her writing, it must be possible to pay off a large amount without coming out of it with nothing?

I think she was advised to put in the sentence about she has to write about a fictitious and extravagant lifestyle to reassure her creditors, but she has now apparently said that all her articles are fictitious - what about her interviews with people, her visits to places - does this mean she never goes anywhere or does anything, but sits in her house with the computer and the internet?

There was also mention of repayments in an article recently, where she denied she was paying off at 25p in the pound and stressed that she was paying her tax dues back at 100p. Perhaps we should all just accept that everything she says is a lie and find someone else's writing to enjoy and critique?

Is it possible that she has to pay 100% of her tax backlog, but only 25% of what she owes other creditors?

That would be this one then. I assume the newspaper she refers to is the Private Eye.

The first rule, surely, of presenting a fictitious diary and other articles in which one pretends one is living a life of luxury, would be not to write about how one only has two pairs of underpants and no running water due to being destitute.

Perhaps by "Merc" she means "Toyota Starlet"? And by "sole VB dress which I had to dye to make it last longer" she means "M&S photoshoot leftovers"? And by "prosecco" she means "cider"? And by "horse" she means "guinea pig"?

Marc Jacobs, not Myla.
See the damage she can do, turning a brand name into a laughing stock by her sought after (in her head) endorsement.

I'm now unsure as to who is most off their rocker, her or the MoS!

Her because of the evident rubbish she writes and the MoS because of their blithe insouciance as to the damage her witterings are doing to the MoS (and paying advertisers) as well as her.

I suspect many people read it waiting for the (inevitable) crash to come!

Myla have always been a laughing stock to me anyway. Ridiculous prices for a bit of undersized dental floss on some vacuous looking bird. I wouldn't give them my hard earned cash.
