Well falling out with your family because you deride them in a newspaper is clearly much worse than living in fear for your life, or witnessing the death of loved ones, friends and neighbours.
"I’ve just got back to London from a gruelling work trip to a former war zone, and while I sympathise with the grief of those who have lost loved ones, I can’t help but want a more normal problem for myself. I’ve been turned on by my family, which is surely worse than being fired upon by strangers. " |

She is such a giggle isn't she?
Maybe the Mail should send her to Syria next.

I read her article about Internet abuse. Get yourselves ready as you will all be in her next article about what has been written about her on forums.
Not that I am saying any of you are, but bet your bottom dollar, she will say it. |

Couple of points on the internet abuse farticle. Someone changed her birth year to 1948 on Wiki, this apparently was highly damaging. I don't get why, she isn't an actress looking for roles as an ingenue is she?
![]() As a columnist, she can tell straight away when another columnist is being lazy. That is our witty LJ at her deluded best!

Liz Bones is a classic narcissistic personality disordered person. Total absence of empathy. She can happily- and regularly- write offensive comments about her mother, sister, "friends", misogynistic comments about other women/mothers, racist comments about "white men" or non-white shopkeepers/taxi drivers/cleaners, bitch about the appearance of other well know women (e.g.Claire Balding in a "cheap cardigan"; Rihanna dressing to "invite rape") but as soon as she is called out it, she comes over all botoxed wide eyed innocence and claims it's her alleged "sense of humour" or her "honesty". Of course when she is on the receiving end of justifiable negative comments, or ignored by family/friends, it's all too awful for her and she can't understand why. She has the emotional intelligence of a cold cuppa tea. She can dish it out but can't tolerate it back.
Still at least she reads the DM comments and no doubt DS too! I remember someone commenting about her hair looking like a "Michael Jackson fright wig" and she has cited that quote recently. I'm sure she (or some poor DM lackey) posts under a pseudonym. The good news is that her misery memoirs have been a complete disaster re sales. Plummeted from the bottom 1,000 of sales in the first week of publication to the last 7,000 this week, according to Amazon.

It will be interesting to see what effect - if any - the upcoming meet-n-greet, and her late (much too late) September appearance at the Henley Literary Festival has on sales (bear in mind, however, that shooting up from #7000 to #2500 on Amazon indicates a total sale of maybe four copies.
).Speaking of sales, it amused me no end that, in the first week, the memememoir was comprehensively outsold by that classic of modern literature, Pirate Pete's Potty - currently still riding high at #87, not to mention over four years old !

I think you underestimate Pirate Pete
"Follow Pirate Pete as he swaps his nappy for big boy pants and begins to use the potty for the first time." How gripping is that??? |

Meet 'n' Sneer
The trip through the looking glass is now complete.. the 'meet the author' in London's glittering West End is scheduled to last two hours. A staffer at DM will spend 15 mins introducing the old hag. All questions must be submitted in writing beforehand. Those that 'pass' will be read to Jonesey and she will deign to respond. She will be involved for 30 mins. I am very tempted to get comfy in the bar and doorstep her on the way out.

Would be amusing - and most instructive - to get a mole in there to see how the reality compares with the report.
I'd hazard the 'permitted' questions will be something like... "Why do you care so much for animals and campaign so tirelessly on their behalf ?" "Why are you so kind to your family, and other complete strangers, and why do they treat you so badly ?? "How have you managed to keep your relationship with THS so very private ?" "Can you give me any tips on how to write as well as you do ?" |

Amazing.
So the Jonesy fans spend X amount of money on travel, then the £20 or so for a ticket, for that! They get to hear some gushing intro for for 15mins, and then her answer selected questions for just 30mins. How disingenuous. Bellagio,I agree.A load of sycophantic nonsense about animals, poor me, and how she is an advisor to young women re the evil fashion industry. Wish we did know a staff member at the venue.

It might be a book shop in the Outer Hebrides, with only one potential buyer. But still for free. |

Ah, but... to sign copies in a bookshop rather presupposes that someone - anyone - will come along and buy said tome, and to date the overwhelming evidence is that hardly anyone wants to. The current amazon.co.uk ranking is 6,900.

As the book has been the most supreme flop - Yellow Pages would be better reading - I think the gathering of the fans (in a small room) (a very small room) will be one of the most marvellous non-events in the history of self-publicity. Visions of a semi-circle of those who hang on LJ's every word, carefully "vetted" (not a word I like to use in conjunction with LJ in view of her astonishing use of vets, and total lack of even basic animal husbandry) questions and pre-scripted answers. While drinking lukewarm white wine and eating a (vegan) sausage roll. And a good time is had by all.

A simple question for astor: do you condone Jones' practise of altering her stories to fit, her blatant lies and her equally blatant plagiarism of the words of other, passing their experiences off as her own ? A straight yes or no please.
The key word in what you've been asked is 'condone'* - do you condone these things? Do you condone Ms Jones altering stories to fit her purpose? Do you condone her blatant lies? Do you condone the plagiarism of other people's words, passing them off as her own? Three simple questions requiring three, very simple one word answers for each one. One only has to have a passing acquaintance with Ms Jones' output to know that she is inconsistent in her 'facts' and lacking in continuity when it comes to who did and said what and when - something that many have pointed out, perfectly reasonably from what I've seen. Quote:
Gosh Bellagio, I didn't realise you were actually there on the trip with Liz, witnessing & logging everything!
As for "googling" and researching Liz - that's obviously your little hobby, not mine. I am, as I say, looking forward to your three straight yes or no answers as to whether you condone* a) Ms Jones' altering of stories to fit her purpose, b) her lies (or direct contradiction of things she's previous on record to have said/reported if you prefer) and c) her plagiarism/passing off other's words, thoughts and feelings as her own. * To condone = to overlook, to excuse, to forgive, to pardon, to tolerate, to close the eyes to. Just to clarify what it is you're being asked to comment on by using either 'yes' or 'no' answers... |

[quote=sunstone;66461667]Hope you aren't too hungover today and don't bump into LJ
![]() Hi Sunstone - sorry I know it's eons ago but I just wanted to acknowledge your response to me. I last posted in June when I was on hols (in close proximity to the home of La Lizard I believe). We had to cut our hol short as unfortunately my 86 year old Dad collapsed and was rushed to hospital fighting for his life. Thankfully he is now slowly on the mend but it's been a whirl of hospital appointment etc so I've not been on here for weeks and weeks (just catching up on all the fun and games). Thankfully I didn't bump into the raven-tressed one on my Yorkshire travels.

jersyporter - to be fair to astor, she did say no, she didn't condone plagiarism... then entirely undermined herself by stating that what Jones was doing wasn't plagiarism. Much in the same way, I suspect, that the sun doesn't set in the west in the evening.
She really is a very, very silly woman.

Oh... you are just not going to believe this week's Diary. It's a lulu. She's surpassed herself in the self-centered/lack of awareness stakes.

The diary coming out on Sunday made me feel sick. There is something very wrong with her mind because she can never see what she does to upset people or the effect her actions have on her friends and family.
If I didn't dislike her so much I would be seriously worried about her sanity. |

I haven't commented in here for ages...this thread just fuels Jones' sense of self-importance.
Had to comment on today's Dreary though, she really is the lowest of the low. I've tried to post this comment on the article but I doubt it will be published: More click bait from Liz. 'In Which I Am Increasingly Desperate To Hang On To My Column'. Truly sickening. |
