I find that website way homophobic (just look at this article they posted:http://spotlightonabuse.files.wordpr...3/obs20480.jpg ) and way too worried about sexual abuse on boys (just boys, girls hardly exist for them). They only focus on institutional abuse, when most abuse happens at home, and the perpetrators are family members. Institutional abuse must be fought and it's victims protected. But I wonder why these types of websites focus so much on the institutional abuse only. The "home" sexual abuse happens mostly with girls, it seems to me the focus on institutional abuse is a bias against homosexuals (as if homosexual = paedophiles), making it seems child abusers abuse mostly boys.

Others blogs, such as aarginfan, are even more disturbing. I wonder who is behind it. They say they fight abuse, but insist in posting pictures of boys, many of them half naked, when writing about it.

You are not the only person to have noticed.

On the one hand I wonder why often when I do a bit a delving I frequently end up being guided to extremely right wing websites.

On the other hand I wonder if some of those blogs are by people with very strong (religious?) views and would like to see the 1967 law on homosexual acts repealed, possibly wish to see abortion outlawed and The Pill banned as well.

Sex offenders are said to be extremely devious and manipulative, I don't know why but I've felt deeply suspicious about some of the websites and contributions to digital forums.

I've seen on blogs a story that I regard as a smear (not sexual) against someone well known, the source appears to be a blog written by someone who has served a prison sentence within the past 10 years for....child abuse.

I worry when it is said most abuse is within families. Not because it is true (it is), but because it seems to suggest that the main focus of exposing institutional abuse is wrong or over the top.
All abuse is disgusting. It's power over the weak and vulnerable and those with power should be prevented from satisfying their vile needs and desires.
The state takes into care young children; religion seeks to morally teach; schools to educate; youth organisations to give children fun activities.
And what happens? Not enough safeguards to protect and prevent paedophiles from targeting such institutions.
I have always believed that those in power need to lead by example but numerous messages are being sent to the rest of society. For example: Greed is ok (MPs expenses, Bankers); important people need to be protected from exposure of wrondoing; we only need to think about our own needs and despise those less fortunate as they are feckless, lazy etc.etc.. We end up with a corrupting influence from the top, passed on to the rest of us and our youngsters.
So expose those disgusting people in prominent positions. Do not protect them. And once that is done, then yes, seek out families where abuse is happening.
