EE and Orange Wednesday
Since I moved to EE my Orange Wednesday seems to have stopped working. Is this correct ?

The code is different for ee
To get your text ticket, simply download the EE Film app or text CINEMA to 60005 from your EE mobile. You'll get a text straight back with your code (text costs 35p). |

However, I must say, why on earth did they change it ? I can possibly understand them not using 241 as there might be some conflict with Orange but why change the word ? Funnily enough it was only quite recently that I realised the significance of 241 (in case any one else is as blind as I was - two for one), prior to that I could never remember the number, it will now be just the same with 60005 - unless I am once again overlooking the blindingly obvious |

I think they had to change it because effectively EE are on T mobile now and the orange short code doesn't work on ee/t mobile.

I can understand that might be the case, but what I was saying was why on earth did they also have to change the word film to cinema.

Is it only EE customers who get this? Tmobile don't get it but Orange do?

Perhaps I am over pedantic, but unnecessary change for no good reason is one of the things that really irritates me. Take as an example my business Natwest Account. It has a pin number and a memorable word as security. For the pin number it randomises the order of asking for the digits e.g. it will ask for the third then the first then the second. Someone somewhere who was involved in the design obviously thought it was better security, but that's rubbish. If you know the pin you know the pin, if you are guessing then the randomisation also achieves nothing. All it does is make it harder for the legitimate person to log in. Sounds trivial, but it is so much easier in your head to produce digits in the order they appear in the word. More than once I have got close to having my account locked because of too many false attempts, entirely down to this stupid "feature".

I think EE are making sure people don't confuse film and cinema because of the EE film store and offers they do.

You only enter a few parts of the pin for two reasons. If someone is looking over your shoulder they don't know what it is and if you have a keylogger on your computer, they can't get the entire thing.
