Gareth and Will Duet
Glasgow Guy
10-02-2002
Apparently Simon Callow will announce next week that Will and Gareth will be releasing a duet as there are fears that Will won't sell the records Gareth would have done. Apparently it's already been recorded - anyone know what it will be?

I thought they made a pretty good attempt of that Elton John song earlier on in the show. (can't remember what it is called!) That may be an option I guess.

The Elton John song that Will and Gareth sung in the bar was Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me. Excellent the way they both sung it. I also noticed in the background that they stayed in the Marriott Hotel in London, because in one shot it showed you the plaque for the hotel in the background, but the next shot it was all fuzzed out.

It wasn't an Elton John song it was George Michael with Elton waltzing in to do a bit in the middle, actually, it was originally by someone else not too sure but I know Roger Daltrey did a far superior version on the "Lost Boys" soundtrack way back in the 80's.
As for Will & Gareth releasing it I think it would be a big mistake, Will should try and dissassociate himself from Gareth and the rest of the image-led pop market as soon as he can he has the diversity and talent to go a long way if he manages his career sensibly.

Actually, it was originally recorded by Elton John. He wrote it (with long-time collaborator Bernie Taupin), and you'll find it on on his 1974 album, 'Caribou'. It's because it was his song that he did the duet with George.

You'll also find it on Elton John's The Best Of (2cd's). It's on CD1 track 9.
