Ben and Kate/Up All Night (UK Pace, ITV2)
Anyone catch either of them ?.
Haven't watched Up All Night yet, but I thought Ben and Kate wasn't actually that bad. Nothing hysterically funny, but enough there for me to stick with it. It does, however, seem almost certain to be cancelled in the States though. Up All Night does have a 2nd season though, so at least that one is going somewhere. |

Interesting. I watched it earlier and I wasn't that enamoured with it to be honest. If they're both on shaky ground, i might not even bother. we'll see.

I wasn't impressed with either of them. Although I think Up All Night shaded it. Both look set to be cancelled in the US although Up All Night is now in its 2nd season. As had been said they have changed the format for the 2nd season.

I tried to watch Ben & Kate, because it stars Don Johnson's daughter. I had to give up after 10/15 mins because it was so poor. It was trying too hard to be funny and failing miserably. Prime example of American humour at its worst.

Watched both and thought they were both OK, nothing special but nothing terrible either. Shame to hear they've both been cancelled now though!

They haven't been cancelled - yet. It's likely they both will be though, but not yet. Up all night is on hiatus and is coming back as a fixed-camera "Friends" style sitcom that's going to be filmed in front of an audience so I think they'd at least want to see if that improves the ratings.

actually ended up bailing out quite quickly last night. watched most of both of the episodes and realised I just wasn't laughing, so probably with one eye on the fact that neither is really going to last, I deleted both of them and removed the series link. ah well.

Watched the second episode of both last night, didn't think too much of either.
Ben and Kate - one of those situations where I prefer all the supporting cast to the two mains! Up All Night - preferred this one, thought it was amusing but not laugh out loud funny. Like Maya Rudolph, and quite like the two leads. Don't think much of the plans to film in front of an audience though so not sure how long I'll carry on with it... Won't series link either or sit down to watch live, but good programs to have to watch on the ITV player for when there's nothing else on. |

I gave both shows another chance, but didn't find either of them funny, so won't be watching again.

I watched the first episode which i quite liked. Saw the 2nd one which was ok and thought there's room for improvement and was going to keep on watching. Not sure now. Suffice to say, another one bites the dust. http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/ustv/new...-overhaul.html |

i dont mind the rest but that lucy punch is just dire, same monotone drone in every role, they cast dakota as the hot pretty MILF and the lucy as the ugly friend.

Just said this on another thread, but what is the point of American TV, nothing gets given a chance. It feels like you need to wait until a show has finished completely to know whether it's worth watching, or whether it'll be frustratingly cancelled mid-way through a storyline!

Can't say i'm surprised - it appeared to be all but dead before ITV2 even started showing it.
I guess they'll aim towards wrapping it up if they're still filming it. |

It's a shame for ITV2 also seeing as they bought these shows to change up their programming with 666 Park Avenue, Animal Practice being cancelled earlier and now Ben and Kate.

Can't honestly say I'm surprised, I gave up after watching one episode.
Any news on the other one, Up all Night? |

Up All Night hasn't been broadcast since December. Half way through its second season, it is currently being re-tooled from a "single camera" filmed comedy to a multi-camera studio-based comedy with an audience (like, for example, 2 Broke Girls).
This would seem to be some radical surgery to save the patient and if the format change doesn't produce enhanced ratings it will simply die. My money is on the reboot not working and the show being being cancelled. |

Not other than it's currently in its 2nd season in the US and the creator has now also left. http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethe...ra-comedy.html

Don't know why anyone would bother wasting their time with garbage like this.
