Destiny's Child - Opera Of The Bells

En Vogue were rather good, particularly as a four piece.

I don't see anyone of the modern age to touch those from the golden years of harmony groups...
For me the best female harmony group there has ever been was the Chordettes all excellent singers in their own right - here singing Born To Be With You http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=efvkzpkBil0 And a wonderful version of Tammy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sR9dZXqTglk Another who were hugely popular in the US were the Lennon Sisters and thankfully because of their regular TV slot many clips are available, here singing Serenade Of The Bells http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hx4F4Xq-x7Q The Browns were another here singing The Three Bells http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HTkbj56bnYs The Duprees here singing You Belong To Me http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IvLmxQqEa0I The Five Satins here singing Five In the Still of the Night http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fBT3oDMCWpI The Platters here singing Twilight Time also one of the finest lyrics ever written http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zpdaga8cCxU I think the Drifters have already been mentioned, to name but a few... |

Say what you like about them and their revolving door of members, but Sugababes have some brilliant harmonies, especially in some of their earlier songs. Run for Cover and Too Lost in You especially.
I for one cannot wait for the new MKS material! |
