As soon as you use it, it becomes illegal.

Technically, it is, and it could also interfere with emergency services frequencies, and that's why they haven't been approved for use in the UK.

When the law was drafted emergency services used parts of what is now broadcast FM, i think the old FM broadcasts only went up to 99.0 on fm.
also as far as i know, if you broadast on one frquency, it can affect another, something called harmonics, theres probbably someone on here who knows more.
Although the current law needs changing.

I have an iPod and I think it's fantastic. Everybody moans about it's battery but I've had no problem with mine and don't have to charge it that often. It links up to iTunes and the PC very well and is simple to use and 4th generation iPods have come down in price so they are quite good value for money

Ok thanks guys so where is the best place to pick up a belkin tunercast ? Any particular website? I assume I'll need to use a website since they are illegal in the UK & all that...

I bought mine through a seller on Amazon, which was www.everything-ipod.co.uk. I've ordered stuff since, and they're very good.

But there's a few sellers on eBay, doing an iTrip and a PowerPod (car charger) for around £34 including P&P - I'm tempted, because I'm sick of changing batteries in my TuneCast.

Ok I found a Belkin Tunercast on ebay which was for sale by someone near where I live, so I just went & got it now Now all I need is to choose an mp3 player ! IPod or Creative Labs Zen hmmmmm

Well done Mr. 10bellies but whilst products are still being sold people are still going to use them. As I say, some people need to get out more.....you can usually spot them as they're the ones using phrases like 'technically speaking.....' .

The iPod has a very simple set of controls - which I think is easier to operate in a car.

I got a Creative Zen recently and with space for 5,000 MP3s (more than enough) and the simpleness of the entire product I would recommend them highly.

Been after a Belkin Tunecast II for the last few days, but no luck so far.

Aboue 30 on eBay but all coming from the US.

I noticed that J-Me, even on ebay.co.uk, most of them on there were from sellers based in America, I couldnt beleive my luck when I finally found one from England & it happened to be in the next town, I emailed the guy, he added me to MSN about 30mins later & I popped over & got it.

I did race to PC world at 5:30 as it closed at 6, got there at 5:55, sprinted to the MP3 section, but the Zen 20GB & IPod 20GB were both out of stock.

People say IPod is a rip off, but its only £20 more for the 20GB IPod than it is the 20GB Zen, so which would you get if they were the same price for example ? I'm swaying towards IPod due to the small difference in price..

I've heard a couple of bad things about the iPods batterys not lasting very long, but other than that nothing.

Jim, I think Zens are quite a bit cheaper if you shop around. At Amazon, a 30GB Zen is nearly £40 cheaper than a 20GB iPod. Links below:

I went for a Zen Xtra about 6 months ago because of the price, better sound quality and easily replaceable battery but I realise that iPods have other advantages like being smaller and may be slightly easier to use. I love my Zen but I know I'd have been happy with an iPod as well .

Also, one thing I'd recommend to anyone getting a Creative mp3 player is to look at getting this Notmad Explorer software as it makes transferring and managing songs so much easier.

Well guys I got the 20GB Zen, its fantastic and works well with the tunecast in the car with no interference what so ever so far ! Once I work out how to use it better I'm sure I'll find it easier to play the songs I want etc, will have to make about 20 playlists or so !

I've ordered my Zen Micro from Amazon. Just my luck however that they are out of stock so I'll have to wait up to 2 weeks instead of 24 hours.

I would always recommend an iPod - its ease of use is astounding - I've had nothing go wrong with it in the year I have had it, including the battery; its never even crashed on me.
