Galaxy S3 - how to stop 2nd work phone syncing all apps from personal phone?

Hi there,

I've had a Galaxy S3 for a while but got my work one today.

I setup the new work phone with my Google account but found it started to download all of my apps to the work phone.

I was wondering if there was any way to stop it syncing the apps as all I really wanted was SwiftKey 3 on it (did not want games and was worried I may get charged for the apps having them twice) .

Cheers, Mark.

Firstly, you won't get charged twice for any apps - they're linked to your Google account not the device.

I'm in a similar position, I have a Galaxy Nexus from work and a Nexus 4 as my personal phone. When I got the 4 I let it download all my apps then just uninstalled the ones I didn't want on the 4 - Android doesn't continuously sync your apps, only the initial download.

You can also manage which apps are on which device from a PC if you want, via the Play website.

Also if you want to keep your work phone completely separate just set up another Google account and use that with it.

Yeah I have two phones and I just use two account. My work phone is the property of the company I work for, therefore I dont for example have pictures of my family on there or link it to social media.

Ok thanks for the replies.

I wanted my Dropbox, Gmail and a couple of the apps I had already paid for so may use the same Google account.

Only trouble is they ordered us the white version but I guess I can quickly tell which is the work phone.

Mark.
