App Store Reached 40 Billion Downloads
The mobile market keeps growing and growing. Especially Apple. The latest numbers on downloads from their App Store are quite impressive. Over 40 billion downloads have happened, and the most important statistic on this must be that over 50% of these, around 20 billion, happened during 2012.

I find that surprising as from what I have read on here today Apple are'nt far off becoming bankrupt, and basically no one buys Apple products anymore.
If you consider that that is 40billion Apps from a device from a single manufacturer, thats amazing. Google "should" have good sales as well, after all there is 100's and 100's of different handsets from dozens of manufacturers running Googles Android. |

Apple have marketed their products extremely well and have made a lot of money from them. They make 'good' products. I still wouldnt buy one personally as I dont like the company. They are back in a niche market now though, similar to what happened way back with the Microsoft/Apple market battle (when Microsoft baled them out). They will still be around in 10 years but will they be driving the tech market ? |

What you think or want is not FACT unfortunately, most of what you state as fact is generally shown untrue with a 2 minute google. You can kid yourselves all you want that no one buys Apple products and Apple products are poor quality but its just not true I'm afraid. Apple have never driven the "tech" market. iMacs and iPhones have always gone their own wway and will continue to do so. |

Apple have never driven the "tech" market. iMacs and iPhones have always gone their own wway and will continue to do so. when have i said they are poor quality ? I HAVE stated that they are not as 'premium quality' as they used to be but never poor quality. Of course Apple have driven the tech market. They didnt invent the mp3 player but drove the market that made it popular. They didnt invent the smart phone but drove the market that made it popular. they didnt invent the tablet but drove the market that made it popular. I can dislike a company whilst still admiring aspects of it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Niche_market Apple owns a small percentage of the smartphone market that is targetted at a particular 'type' of product with Phones and Computers. My use of the term 'Niche' wasnt derogatory. Please dont mistake me for some of the other posters - im more than happy to debate issues rather than stated 'definties' ..... |
