I was surprised that Jac didn't use the very legitimate argument that she didn't want Emma to be 200 miles away from home because I think Jonny would have understood that. Especially because she could also argue that, if anything did go wrong, it'd take much longer to get Emma to hospital in the LD (windy country roads, longer distances) than it would in Bristol. {Or maybe she was reassured about that because she knows there's a GP up there with CT experience

Yes I did think that Jac must begin to hate the Lake District now. Joseph buggers off there, Bonnie takes Jonny and Emma off there...

Also, who knows how close the nearest Hospital with specialist NICU facilities are - it is not as though they have them in every Hospital is it. The thing that I do take comfort from though is that Jonny can't possibly object if Jac wants to take Emma away somewhere now and I hope she does - for a long holiday!
I do still think that Jac's best move now it full out seduction by just being really, really nice to him (and Bonnie when Jonny is around), perhaps dressing really nicely when he comes round to see EMMA - make him want her again without being onvious so Bonnie looks paranoid and a shrew if she bitches about her. Whether she actually wants him back or not, it'd put Bonnie back in her box! And childish as it is, I just want that now, more than Janny getting back together. In that interview, Thomson does also say that Jonny can't bear the thought of losing Bonnie and sees proposing as the only way of assuring her that he's serious about her. I wonder why he can't stand the thought of losing her - genuine love or just that he thinks she should be perfect for him. By the way there is no Sacha or Elliot in the cast list for 18th so no shoulder for Jac to cry on about the engagement - unless Mo isn't happy about it either and offers some form of support - she is in the cast list. |

Given how she talked about wanting to take one of the twins that played Freya home with her and being broody, I bet Rosie adores her!
).And was also thinking yesterday that now Emma's gone home we're unlikely to see her again very much (except possibly through Jonny's phone photos) ![]()

Oh I think it is certainly an act first, think later thing unlike when he wanted Jac to move in with him which he'd clearly planned. I also wonder whether this will lead to ructions during the engagement - Jonny being one of these men that thinks the commitment of asking is enough without actually planning the wedding with Bonnie keen to name the day.
I don't think we'll see much of Emma either unless they show her check up appointments or have episodes where whoever is supposed to be looking after her is called in and they have to bring her - causing the other one to have a go about it not being a suitable environment for her to be in. This is totally second guessing someone I've never met but given her health problems, I wouldn't be surprised if Rosie wanted to stop work early in the pregnancy to ensure everything goes okay in which case they'd write her out rather than the pregnancy in. After all, she'll have the same employment rights re maternity leave as anyone else (especially after 8 years) so could take nearly a year and I would hope that TPTB would think enough of her and realise what an asset she is to allow her an extended sabbatical on top of the maternity leave if she wanted it. I know we wouldn't want her gone that long but it is better than her leaving all together. By the way, did you know that if you Google Carlyss Peer, this thread comes up?!? |

Other option is if she does tell them she's pregnant and they want to include it, they just quickly film a reference to her having met someone and going on a date and slip it into an episode being edited. Then we don't ever have to see him but she can be pregnant again. I suspect that is what they did with Chrissie and her internet dating when Hobley fell pregnant, then worked out the character of Sacha to introduce a couple of months later.

BIB: I had no idea (but suppose it does make sense) but don't think it's an issue - even at our most damming about Bonnie I don't think we've ever said anything horrible/rude about Carlyss |

No, I don't think there is anybody like that contributing to this thread - I get the impression we are all of the 'if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all' scholl of thought. Besides which, I actually can't think of anything nasty to say about Carlyss! She's a pretty, charismatic, talented actress. Whilst i'm honest in finding the introduction of Bonnie unnecessary and disliking the character quite a lot so wishing she wasn't around, i'd quite like Carlyss to remain in the show - if that makes any sense. In fact I wouldn't mind Bonnie staying in ths show and think she'd be interesting on other wards - she is a better new character tham many others in the last few years, I just don't want her involved with Janny.
Well they managed to write Connie out for Mealing's two sabbaticals despite Grace being around though to be fair Sam had moved by the second one. |

ETA: And agree with you about Carlyss - I wouldn't mind her staying around without the Jonny connection (but can't imagine they'll do that, if her and Jonny do split up) |

Yes, I think that one was about 3 months and the other 4 or 5.
They could have her seconded somewhere else for a year or even just have her get so fed up of Jonny (and Bonnie?) interfering or perhaps threatening for custody with Emma that she just runs away with her. |

So even if she does say something on 18th it evidently makes no difference - either to their plans or Bonnie and especially Jonny rubbing her nose in them.
It really is Faye and Joseph all over again only less than a quarter as good. And I wasn't keen on that plot in the first place. |

Mind you, has Jac (or Jonny) missed one episode this year? 3 months solid even if the storyline is hideous - except for Emma. Emma is lovely.

Quickest way to make Jonny sit up and realise what he is missing would be for jac to get a great new boyfriend who is good with Emma (see how he likes being replaced the way Bonnie is doing Jac) whilst Jac continues to be really nice to him so Bonnie looks like a cow when she comes out with her nasty comments. Joseph would be perfect for this but it's not going to happen is it. Which reminds me, i'm sure a glimpse of Roberts with his shirt off brandishing a sword in the 300 Rise of the Empire trailer. |

She's not going to though is she because Kent is obsessed with love triangles and i'm absolutely convinced sees this plot as a chance to revisit what he sees as the best of the Jac/Faye/Joseph dynamic of season 10 with a sash of Connie and Sam arguing over baby Grace thrown in.
