Joseph was of course at least half Scottish though one suspects brought up in England. I don't think they ever made it clear whether Charles was a life (for medical services) or hereditary peer. For some reason I've always assumed the latter (so Jospeh is now Lord Byrne but just doesn't use it) in which case Joseph is probably a Laird of some huge Estate up there.

Does anyone know if there are any spoilers out yet for the week after Jac comes back???

Haven't seen them, not even on HTV which is unusual. I'll keep checking.

However, the main reason I'm posting it on here is because in the background there are some Jac/Jonny scenes that I'd like to be able to discuss somewehere the potential pregnancy storyline can be discussed more openly.

Firstly, Jac and Jonny ARE talking (although presumably about work things) but suppose they have to start somewhere

Also, from what I can see Jac doesn't appear to be wearing bigger scrubs than normal (although this could have been filmed some time ago so she might not have been showing yet - after all Kate M. is 4months+ gone and if you hadn't known she was pregnant you might have thought that she'd just had a big lunch even though she was wearing quite a figure hugging outfit)

Interestingly though did notice that in the background there was a scene where Rosie was holding what I'm sure is a hot water bottle which seemed a bit odd (although there was snow on the ground so maybe she was cold) and later on there's a very brief clip where Jonny is talking to her whilst she's sitting down and she's definitely got her hooded jacket on, which she normally only wears outside. Only mention this because when my sister was pregnant (both times) she was always cold (especially at the start before the bump got big) even when nobody else in the house (even my mum) was. So am wondering if rather than going for the obvious symptoms of pregnancy (morning sickness being the most obvious) with Jac they might (especially at the start) use the more subtle signs (feeling cold, increased sensitivity to smells etc).

Of course the other alternative is that I am reading far too much into these tiny little clips which is probably just as likely, but I quite like doing it too so think I will continue
Roll on the 5th of March when the speculation really can take off

(Also, noticed a clue as to where Holby's timeline is at the moment as Dean said he'd been sober for over 8 months starting June 5th so the Holby-verse must still be somewhere in February)”

Sorry, first post, but have been following the thread for ages!

Going to throw a big pan of water on your theory (please don't shoot me!), but judging by Chizzy's awesome new haircut, the video is pretty recent. Several of the cast were tweeting a few weeks back that the heating on set wasn't working and it was freezing...

Ah, just cold then. I did think it might be that especially as with her immune system problems, Rosie possibly feels the cold more than the average bear.

Didn't look pregnant but they'll only be filming late April / early May so she could be pregnant and not showing much - she'd only be approx 4 months.

I've got a horrible feeling Marie-Claire could be rebound complication girl for Jonny given the news she is going full time.

Oh and welcome - lovely to hear from you.

Oh my gosh, Marie-Claire and Jonny... The only way I can put that into words is to quote Jonny himself and say "I think I just sicked up in my mouth a little bit".
kitkat1971
23-02-2013
Ha-ha. It's just something we speculated about a while ago as a rebound love interest is an obvious way to take Jonny post Jac cheating on hinm and she seems the only feasible option unless they introduce someone completely new. Serena is too old, Chantelle too young and innocent (and will have Digby soon I think), Tara has Ollie, Mo is purely platonic, Chrissie has Sacha (and please god no) so that just leaves MC or Gemma.
Emma_Kent
23-02-2013
Yeah, I completely understand the logic in that! She's by far the most likely fit out of current regulars but I assumed he was more the type to pick up a complete stranger in a bar rather than rebound with someone he already knows (we saw how quickly he made a move on Jac at the people skills course!).

A rebound would be good though - much as I love Jac, she would deserve to be on the receiving end for once! She did it to Jonny after she dumped the first time round, surely its only fair that he turns the tables on her this time!
kitkat1971
23-02-2013
I would agree that Jonny is more likely to pick up strangers but we wouldn't see that play out on screen, especially Jac's reaction. For maximum trouble and soap angst, it has to be someone at the Hospital.
Emma_Kent
23-02-2013
A very fair point! It would be entirely plausible however in Holby-land for said-stranger to be admitted, turn up as a relative or for Mo to be loudly winding him up about it at the precise moment Jac appears out of nowhere behind them, as has happened numerous times before. Mo and Albie springs to mind and pretty much every shift seems to finish up in Albie's...
kitkat1971
23-02-2013
They've had several sexual lotharios in the show but a lot of the time we are told it rather than seeing it. Greg is an example that springs to mind who despite it often being mentioned that he was a Ladies man - it really never came across, even pre Sahira mooning days. The only 2 I can think of where you got a real sense of them having a very active sex life away from the Hospital are Michael Spence and Sam Strachen and this was done by having a couple of women turn up as patients or seeing them be dropped off by unnamed woman in the Car Park each morning. Also there was that eye opening time Tim from the STD clinic mentioned Sam's 4 different partners in one week!

I suppose they could go that route with Jonny (and his initial biography did say he played the field and the evidedence of getting Jac into bed within a couple of hours would seem to back it up) but I think if they want to make Jac suffer long term, they'll want it to be a public relationship with someone she is forced to work with - like Joseph and Faye.
kitkat1971
23-02-2013
We also know that Jonny already knows how easy Marie-Claire is - the line a few weeks ago about her asking Ollie out for a drink and everyone knowing what that means with her. I'm not sure whether that would make her seem a more or less appealing option for no strings fun?
Emma_Kent
24-02-2013
I suppose a drunken ONS with Marie-Claire wouldn't be the craziest thing to have happened in Holby-land... :-P It would be certainly be enough to rock the boat with Jac that's for sure, but it might just be me, but a longer term relationship so soon after Jac breaking his heart seems a bit out of character.

It's frustrating there aren't any spoilers for 12th March online. I'm starting to get a bit desperate!
kitkat1971
24-02-2013
Sometimes people dive straight first into new relationships precisely because their heart has been broken and they are determind to prove that they are okay and capable of getting over it. Rarely works of course but it isn't unusual. Being alone or just very casual dating to deep your toes back in the water and give yourself a chance to heal naturally is the most sensible thing to do (and Jonny does seem sensible most of the time) but love and heartbreak makes people act very oddly.

I guess we'll see in time.

It is odd that there are no spoilers for the 12th - I can't remember them being this late for a long time. They will definately be out on Tuesday at the latest though as the 12th will be included in SoapLife and All About Soap which are published then.

Welcome to the thread. Don't worry you won't need a bullet-proof vest!! (but if you ever feel the need you're always welcome to borrow the tin helmet I appropriated from someone on the main Holby thread!!) If the set was freezing would make sense of the hot water bottle and the hoodie - still think our Jac's pregnant though.

Agree that Marie-Claire could well be Jonny's new something (not quite sure what to call it - rebound girl, fling, g/f??) But if she's only just been made a permanent addition to the cast (?if this is the case) then surely she won't be on our screens much for a few months, so there's plenty of time for Jonny to be a bit of a Cassanova as well I suppose!!

Just to add that Chizzy has tweeted (in reply to our lovely clover - she of the fabulous Holby reviews) that:

Quote:
“The #Mosha or #Sashmo stuff is lovely. Lots more to come !!”

Which makes me wonder if MoJo is off for the forseeable future??

Indeed, we are a very, nice, friendly, polite lot here - all views are welcome and treated with respect even if not agreed with unlike certain other places (cough some Eastenders threads cough). That said, so far we are mercifully troll free which helps.

It might be if they do go down the Jonny rebound girlfriend / Jac jealous route. It always seems like the writers only write 2 relationships for any character at any given time. For example, Joseph's friendship / professional rivalry with Sam and mentoree (is that the right ward) to Elliot got ignored as soon as they concentrated on his dating Jac and the father / son dynamic with Charles, then it was all Jac / Faye for about 18 months then all Linden / Faye for another year or so. Jacha was sidelined as soon as she got back involved with the Faye / Joseph triange in 2010 and he was mixed in with Chrissie and Dan. I'm sure I could think of a lot of other examples as well.

I wonder if Jac will be a teeny bit jealous of Mosha/Sashmo!

If she gets wind of it I'm sure she will be, especially if she doesn't have a boyfriend (Jonny) to pick up the short fall. I don't think that Jac is a possesive friend, she seemed fine with Michael and Luc at the stag night and obviously realises that the girlfriend / wife needs to take priority even if you don't like them (unlike Mo) as she has never actively stopped him going after Chrissie. However, a female bff (esp one that doesn't like her) that cuts her out or makes she can't talk honestly to sacha about her feelings for Jonny could hurt her badly.

Maybe someone on twitter (Wiggles) could try and find out if Bob Barrett still considers Jac to be Sacha's best friend as he did at the time of the wedding. In fact, he wanted Jac rather than luc as his best man!
kitkat1971

Just to clarify, I find it telling that in October last year whan Sacha had spent nearly 2 years gettiing close to Spence, Luc, Eddi (female we note who said sacha was her best friend), Barrett, the actor, still rated Jac as Sacha's best friend despite luc being Best Man on screen. I so love that stag scene, esp jac and Sacha having their arms around each other as she slags off his bride. As I have had a male best friend since I was 11 (thiugh mine is gay so no chance) I love seeing that level of male/female true, pure, physically (but not sexually) close love as it is something I relate to and value as much as my relationships with my oparents, brother and husband. Perhaps more so as Roger (my Sacha) has chosen to befriend and love me with no sexual element so perhaps it means more. Esp after 30 years which we are and counting...m

Sorry, prob too much of my life history there.

Oh lordy - if Jac is hurt at losing Sasha as her best mate as WELL as hurting over losing Jonny (not to mention Joseph) my heart won't be able to take it!!!

Thats a great idea about twittering Bob Barrett - I honestly don't mind Sasha becoming pally with Mo, so long as Jac isn't pushed out into the cold!!

Ah, the stag scene! We could watch it over and over and over again

I think Sasha is such a good friend - but I did always get the sense that Jac was really special to him and I'd hate to see that change.

And your mbf sounds lovely btw. Long friendships are so special. My bbf has been in my life since we were 12 (35 years and counting!) and is as dear to me as my hubby and 3 children. She has been with me through all the highs and lows and knows me inside out, as I do her. I would love a Sasha in my life, tho!!
