I'm by no means a sports fan but don't really mind when shows get moved or even bumped by major sporting events which come along once a year (Wimbledon) or even less frequently (Olympics, World Cup, Commonwealth Games). I bet it's been a nightmare for the (BBC) programmers this year with the World Cup and Wimbledon at the same time, especially as they're both things which can over-run the time you've scheduled them in for. At least this way we know where we stand - EE and Holby (and maybe other shows) on in their normal slots just on BBC2 (that must have made their schedules easier to fill though!!) which really isn't a hardship. And to be fair to the schedulers when they have an option to they usually do try to plan for forseeable eventualities - e.g when its the FA cup final they'll usually schedule shows which can easily be shelved (random repeats of Dad's Army, a repeated D.A. documentary/nature prog) in case it goes to ET/penalties.

Also, in defence of the BBC's wide-spread and prominent coverage of the Commonwealth Games (& the Olympics) it does give opportunities for sports which I really like to watch (gymnastics, trampolining, diving) to actually be shown and they are in GB this year, which does make it a bit more special (to me at least). Also with Wimbledon it is practically the only tennis you see on the big 4 channels each year (I think ITV has the French Open but that's normally on ITV3 or 4).

I don't have against Sports being shown in principle - the BBC in particular has a duty to air them as part of its remit and whilst i'm not interested, I appreciate millions are and they have a right to enjoy them without having to pay a subscription. It's just that these years (usually every other year) whern you have the European Football and the Olympics or the World Cup and the Commonwealth Games as well as the annuals (tour De France, Wimbledon, Ascot) it does feel like the Summer is dominated by it and it'll never end - as soon as one tournament finishes another starts up. Obviously having them on a different channel is good for choice but if you happen to live with someone that wants to watch every football game (as I do) and you can't tape a different channel to the one you're watching it gets tiresome pretty quickly.

So, due to my personal circumstances it gets on my wick although I don't actually think they should do any differently and do prefer that they just shift them all to BBC2 rather than changing the schedules at short notice - though ui do understand why that has to happen sometimes.

I don't like the Jonny element of the Summer preview although I did suspect it would happen some time ago and also not liking the tone of the Jac spoilers re Elliot and Herzig implying that Jac even agreeing to head the project whilst he's sick is a betrayal (- honestly don't think it is - surely he'd rather somebody continues the work than it be abandoned after so many years of work and investment( and taking credit for his work.

Yes think we all (on here at least) did - mostly because, to my mind at least, they've been sign-posting it (more and less subtly) since she moved to Darwin. I also suspect it'll be (meant to be) the reason for Jac's response to Adele's plans.

Re Elliot and Jac am actually wondering if

Okay. I can't do spoilers on here but it seems everyone else has seen it.

It is lots of very, very quick shots of bits of dialogue - only watched it once but I'll try to remember.

Adrienne's dementia has evdently got much worse - there's a shot of her hitting Serena and Then somebody noticing bruises on Adrienne's arms and her saying "how do you think" when asked how she got them so she'll accuse Serena and indeed they might have come from Serena if she had to restrain her mother for some reason. Ric was in some of those shots helping them so probably heavily involved in that story.
Elliot was seen saying he wants Jac to take over Herzig if he is unable to work on it, then coming onto the Ward in a wheelchair and asking Mo why she'd told somebody about his Nuero problems and her denying she had (no doubt Jac's actually the culprit). He, Jac and Connie were also seen greeting each other in the Darwin office.
Jac is saying "come on, we can do this" to Mr T (!?!) unless they've edited 2 shots together and she's actually talking to somebody else. Adele tells Jac she's going to become a Nurse no matter what Jac thinks about it. Jonny kisses Adele. The young farmers are back and Jonny looks horrified.
I didn't properly notice what Spence was doing but he was in the shots.
Raf was doing a Linden and confessing that he wants to kill Harry. Amy had loads of blood over her top. Fletch was talking to Colette and Zosia seems to be having a complete and utter breakdown, drinking, pouncing on Digby, screwing things up with his girlfriend. And a fairly funny line from Dom saying even the coma patients know he's gay when somebody asks if he's still in the closet.

Is there any possibility that Mr T could be Jac's new boyfriend? I'd prefer it to Selfie (unless the relationship added some much needed depth to Guy) but could he really help her career? Unless perhaps she's developed an interest in surgery on unborn babies after her CDH experience but you wouldn't think she'd have the time would you!

Hope you are right about Jac and Mr T but Mo would not be happy!! I doubt she'll be happy about Jonny and Adele either!!

Frankly after the way Mo has been in recent months (pretty lousy friend and colleague to both Jonny and Jac and not a great sister to Adele either) I don't really care that much if she gets upset over Jac and Mr T. I do however think that he deserves better than to be used as a rebound with Jac in full on hard nosed bitch mode even though I do want her to have someone nice after all she's been through. Is that completely contradictory of me? And no, I don't see her liking Jonny and Adele getting very pally (let alone romantic) but that would be the least of my concerns over the pairing.

I can't see it myself = Mr T's TERRIFIED of Jac. Re the interest in pre-natal surgery - wasn't that what her pitch to Hanssen was about when he had that spare pot of research money he was determined to spend (which Elliot eventually got for the Hertzig mark ?4)

Just to add Michael's little bit is him sitting on a sofa and saying something along the lines of 'if you let me stay I can help you with that' to someone who it looks like is Guy (but could be, like the Jac/Mr T thing clever editing).
Also features: Rosie from Corrie (sorry can't remember her real name) who apparently met Fletch in Albies, several really cool cars, a drag queen, 'fake' cows, a man dressed as a big cat (?a leopard) and mention of a geisha (thereby proving that all of life REALLY is in Holby!!)

ETA: On re-watching = it's a tiger not a leopard and I think it's Zosia not 'Rosie from Corrie' that Fletch meets in Albie's (cos I'm almost positive there's a little clip of them kissing [which will go down like a lead balloon with all the Casualty Fless-ers] in there too). And I think Irene from Easties might be a patient of the week....and Roy Hudd definitely is.

Yes Jac was doing a lot of research on congenital heart defects in children following her work on Freya so maybe her interest might go to pre natal due to Emma. That is the only thing I can think of that she'd need Derwood to help with other than her maybe wanting IVF and I really can't see her going there again so soon - or ever.

I imagine Spence will need to bargain with Guy to be re-instated, even temporarily.

I wasn't sure if it was Helen Flanagan or Zosia in that shot behind Fletch. I hated Fless or Tetch or whatever it was called so don't care if he is f+++ing around. No doubt all their fans will say he's doing it to get over her and it means nothing.

A lot of the clips were actually from tonight's including Adrienne striking Serena. I think this storyline is going to be the highlight of the next few months and have a fair amount of confidence in it as they are both great actresses but I think it is going to be very upsetting to watch (especially as it is a little close to home - my Grandmother had dementia and it looks like my Mother might be getting it on top of all the physical problems) but worthwhile drama often if upsetting and heartbreaking.

And Collins I don't know if this makes any difference to the whole ROI thing but lots of people have now posted a link to the summer preview video on Twitter (chizzy, petra, catherine, OK) so you might be able to see it from there???

Helen Flanagan - that's it!!! Is definitely her (did have the advantage of a laptop screen and a few re-watches though, saw it first without any sound cos I was in the uni library).

Was trying to see what was on the screen behind Jac when she's talking to Mr T (and I'm almost 100% sure it is him she's talking to now - you can just see her hair at the edge of the shot when the camera's on him) and it COULD be an u/s scan of a baby (although might also be something completely different.

There was a lot of high fiving wasn't there and quite a lot of running too (Digby's looked especially purposeful) - hope Zosia doesn't wreck it for him and Maria (clam shell = that's just so sweet!!) And those dressing gowns!!!!


Agree about the Serena/Adrienne storyline too - think it has great potential especially with Catherine and Sandra on board and expect the writing will be good for it too (Holby can do these sorts of things brilliantly)

I do agree that Mr T has always seemed terrified by Jac and she has always seemed exasperated by him so an affair seems unlikely but clinging to the thought of it being anybody but Guy! I do still think he's the likliest option though.

Wasn't she fab tonight and Mo got on my wick again, cussing Jac for having left her untrained on Herzig when it is Elliot's responsibility to train her and Jac has been going through hell for months with little or no help from anyone - including Mo. Slightly concerning how quickly (though gently) she dismissed any talk of Emma though I can't say I'm surprised by it.

Note how they build up her closeneSs to Elliot just so her 'betrayal' will seem worse in the coming weeks.

No, she's in surgery and he comes in (!) and asks 'Why did you tell him about my neuro (or possibly new) surgery' and she says 'I didn't'.
Also, there is a scene with a rather foreboding looking woman talking about it being 'time to action his removal' with Guy seemingly nodding afterwards (although that again might be clever editing and might have been strategically placed to make us think they're talking about Elliot, when I suppose it could be Michael)

As Wiggles says it was a different clip - i'd say it is from after the surgery when Elliot is trying to resume work but somebody doesn't want him to due to the recent brain surgery.

I think that woman is from the Board or perhaps a Trust lawyer and it is from next week. It's something along the lines of "we've had concerns about him for some time, we need to action his removal" and maybe this negligence complaint (which seems to be a former patient, not yesterdays) is the trigger.

Mo's line was funny and quite fitting for Jac some of the time (and Marcel would be spot on casting for Janis if anyone ever gets round to adapting The Magician's Nephew - my favourite book of the series) but it was really uncharitable given the circumstances. It's not as though Jac just took herself off to laze in the Sun sipping Pina Coladas for no reason is it. She's had a dreadful year, starting with the endometriosis, splitting with Jonny, the CDH, Bonnie and then the custody case and has just had to make the hardest decision of her life. And she doesn't exist solely to train Mo and make her life easier!

Have just seen on Twitter that Tim Vine has just announced tour dates for 2015 and that you can find out more from www.timvine.com. And I know this isn't Jac or even Holby related but hope I can be excused as it's Tim......

Yes. As I said previously, whilst i'll be annoyed if they don't reference that they got on by Connie's departure and Connie pretty much endorsed her as her successor - they are both the type of women that can only be friends if not competing for the sane thing and when they are at the same Hospital, they will view each other as rivals and threats.

Oh the 3 stooges will automatically think the worst of her even assuming they know she initially refuses to take Elliot's job. Honestly if Mo can still vilify her for leaving after giving up her daughter and her mother dying there is absolutely no hope. And Jonny didn't exctly defend her did he.

Amazed to see that the Janny ship is still sailing on the Holby facebook page - I'd have thought the last few months would have sunk it for sure.

Colour me cynical but I think half these people are plants by Kent. Apparently they are still wanting "juicy" storylines. You would have to look a long time on the main Holby thread to find any such views!

Also why would anyone who loves Jac as a character want to see her back with Jonny as things stand???? We all suspect that that is the long term plan but an AWFUL lot will have to happen before I would actually WANT them back together again.
