Well I'm feeling slightly better about this now
http://www.radiotimes.com/episode/cz...one-small-step as it seems that someone else may be wielding the knife (or at least forcing Jac's hand with the knife in it). Although, like you, do expect this to pass the rest of Darwin by. And have to say from the small bit of Connie/Jac interaction we saw on the preview it does seem to me like they've forgotten about the mutua respect they'd got going on by the time Connie left (not to mention her leaving/welcome present to Jac). Connie seemed, to me, to be in full-on sneery mode (which she does so well !!) when she saw Jac again |

![]() not something I expect to say often but just goes to prove what we've always said/argued!!! Don't blame James one bit. He's already had one parent opt of life without talking to him first or giving him time to come to terms with her decision without a second jumping into possibly mortal surgery before he has to. Yes, we can understand why Gina did what she did but i've always thought her doing it without discussing it with her children (iirc she didn't even tell James she had MND in case it disrupted his degree studies) was incredibly selfish and Elliot isn't behaving much better now. |

Whenever they show Jac doing something nice, they can never just leave it at that. No, before the episode is even over they have to show her reverting to form and doing a "Jac".
It makes me so mad!!! |

I stand by my previous post. They have built the Jac/Elliot friendship up into a lovely thing and now are immediately looking for ways to sabotage it. Such a shame.

As I said last week, they've concentrated on the friendship in recent weeks just so her 'betrayal' will seem worse just as his 'father/son' relationship with Oliver came out of nowhere so Oli could push him away and mistreat him after Tara died. It makes sense that Jav and Elliot would have grown close of course and I suppose there have been little mentions (like her spending Christmas with himn and of course the birth episode) but they could have focused on it more - like during the custody case for example.
It's an idea Collins but I'm sure Rosie said it was an existing character. |

That's s a possibility collins and I certainly haven't seen much sign of anything brewing between Selfie and her really (certainly not from Jac yet anyway) which at least means that if it is him she can't be accused of 'sleeping her way to the top' (perhaps to stay at the top but not to get there) which is a (very small) blessing. I actually thought Rosie said it was somebody 'at the hospital' which I suppose could mean somebody who comes in to be at the hospital rather than someone who's already there. Quite a clever way of putting it actually - enough info to make us jump to a particular conclusion with enough ambiguity that it could be something else entirely. Wonder if she's been to the same school of 'answering questions without giving anything away but seeming to' that JY graduated with such flying colours from??

HmmMm. Yes it was 'someone at the Hospital' I think so it could be a new character but I still think it will be Selfie. Honestly the only other possibility I can think of who is senior enough at the hospital (this American arm is something different) would be the chairman and I could see Cunningham going there - or someone taking over from him. But I still think it is Selfie much as we might want it to be different.

I suppose if this American guy (or he could be English and just heading up the American arm of the Herzig) was to become really involved with it he might come to Holby on a regular basis (anything would be better than the pushy lady whose name escapes me) and in that way he and Jac could be working closely together and something could happen.
If it is him I hope that Jac does not sleep with him purely for ambitions sake. I'm not saying she would fall for him, but maybe just a bit of fun, business mixed with pleasure kind of thing?? Even if it is just to relieve her sexual frustration!! If it's Selfie then I can't see it being anything more than ambition. As you say wiggles, Jac has shown no interest in him whatsoever so far. He has looked at her a but speculatively lately but not necessarily sexually, although I do think he is a man who will take it wherever he can get it!! Ugh!!! |

OK, so they're using the pat explanation that Jac gave up Emma for the sake of her career which she will obviously now do everything in her power to live up to*, thereby negating the last 18 months character development. Think I'd rather she hadn't got pregnant in the first place.
(*Not that that is true and that she doesn't know that, but am sure she'd rather people thought that than had any idea about the real reason [and that's so heart-breaking I could cry!!!]) |

Congrats to Rosie and Ben, hope it all goes well this time. How awful for her that she miscarried just as Jac was giving birth.
You know, much as I love Jac, I hope she leaves when the baby is born. For her own sake, but also because I think Jac's story is just about done. I'm not looking forward to seeing her stab Elliot in the back over the Herzig and be the Ice Queen once more. I want her to get Emma back (or at least agree to share custody) and move on. I would dearly love to see her reunite with Joseph, but won't hold my breath on that one. Jac/Jonny ship has sailed, for me. I really don't want Jac going off for 6 months while Rosie is on maternity leave only to come back to have more cr*p rain down on her. That seems to be all they can do with the character now and I am sick of it. I would rather she left and be happy than stay and be miserable. |

I think it is safe to say that Rosie will probably take a lengthy maternity leave - probably the full year with a possibility of her not returning (or only doing so briefly to tie up storylines) so I imagine they will write her out in such a way as she doesn't need to return. Being moved overseas for work would seem to be the most logical way of doing it. I wonder what the plan was if she hadn't miscarried last year? I imagine she'd have fled with Emma or just not come back from Sweden after the custody case which would have happened a few weeks earlier. No wonder she found the CDH and custody plot difficult to film.
Of course they could always write the pregnancy in again but my gut feeling is that they won't. |

No, I don't think they will write the pregnancy in, either. She will probably go off to the US to head up the Herzig there, or something similar.
Even if they gave us the possible hint of her reuniting with Joseph (as they did with Luc and Eddi) that would make me SO happy!!! |

I've bought the magazine now and it certainly seems from that they won't be writing it in though it also seems to indicate she hasn't toldd her cast mates yet. Though I guess she may have discussed her intentions as early as last year with Kent and Harper to ensure they have a 'back up' plan to write jac out if and when she did fall pregnant.
That would kind of be the dream wouldn't it - if they got Roberts back for a couple of episodes and said they were going to try again elsewhere. Only thing being that if Rosie does return, they'd have to break them up again. |

I don't know - you don't come on the site for a week or so and log back on to find out that Rosie's pregnant (YAY!!!!!) and that Jac has seemingly gone back to being the silent assassin, who would stab you in the back as soon as look at you (BOOOO!!!!)
I'm not looking forward to the fall-out from Tuesday's episode as I can't imagine anyone on Darwin will welcome her with open arms when Elliott has made it so clear to them all that he wants to be where she now is. Am also not clear, along with quite a number of others, how Guy got away with his wheeler dealing (was it a spinning plates analogy Colette used?) but can see it biting him (and Jac) in the bum now (and have to say I really wouldn't mind if it did for either of them, because have to say, even as a Jac lover who tries to understand why she is the way she is, that I really do think she deserves some sort of comeuppance, although I suppose you could argue that the whole Emma thing is punishment enough!!). Am assuming Rosie will take all her maternity leave allowance and that she might not come back to the show permanently after that (although she'd be stupid to say that to the Beeb at this stage) and can't see them writing another pregnancy in so think a sabbatical doing something whizz bangy somewhere will be the order of the day. The only issue I'd have with that is Emma, but guess I might just have to give up on that and pretend that she's got (and always did have) nothing to do with Jac (i.e. she's Jonny's daughter from some person we've never seen.) |
