Well, byebye Jac and Jonny for several months, possibly forever in his case. What did we think? Definately together as a couple as well as parents? I think so. That line about him having her as well if he wants seemed clear and that seemed like they were living together to me.

I hope they get the same little girl back to play Emma if we see her again. She is adorable.

I'm definitely with you on this one - didn't think there was any ambiguity there at all = they were absolutely 100% a couple!! Also, (now) think it might well have been a permanent goodbye for Jonny - Auntie's put a 'best of Jonny'* up on the Holby website which they've also down for MC and Harry (who have both confirmed they're not planning on coming back any time soon, although haven't ruled it out definitely either). And I'm not really sure how I feel about that because of what will happen when jac comes back (which obviously I am looking forward to but with trepidation because of the fear that they might spoil the HSA they've given her now - it's a quandry!!

And I'd also love to see the little girl playing Emma again - absolutely adorable!!


* and was just thinking that if/when Rosie leaves her 'best of Jac' film could well (and in all fairness probably should) be longer than an episode of Holby!!

Good to see Jac is still in the credits but the absence of Jonny does make me think his exit is probably permanent (unless it's a double/?triple bluff and they've left Jac in because you'd expect her to come back after her mat leave but not Jonny who resigned so wouldn't be expected back but could come back if him-Self leaves)


Also, I do hope that the Darwin crew will mention them every now and again rather than them both falling in to the black hole that seems to exist outside the hospital gates. Just like I'd like AAU to get a postcard from Chicago (or even just to see one up somewhere - its those kind of details that I really like!!)

Yes, agree re credits. Although it could be a simple contract thing. Rosie is still on contract, albeit on maternity leave so stays in. Michael's contract has finished and if he does return it will be on a new one, either long term or Guest appearance.

Yes, I really hope they are mentioned as well. There's no reason not to unless they haven't locked down what the state of play will with their relationship when she (they) return so don't want to say anything which will then be contradicted - eg, Mo says they're happy living together, jac returns saying it didn't work and they split months before.

One little query. In Jonny's last episode Mo asked him about talking to Jac and he said he was picking his time. What was that about? Was Mo just wondering about practical things, Emma's custody or had Jonny told her off screen that he was interested in reconciling.

Does that mean literally, they've gone away somewhere or is she speaking metaphorically? Either way, i suspect that is a hint we are not going to hear about them on a regular basis after this point. I mean if Jonny isn't even keeping in touch with Mo.....

Bit late to mention it but wasn't it nice to see Jac and Jonny so smiley and obviously together in their little Skype chat - evidently filmed around the same time as Jonny's spell in Hospital after the stabbing judging by his beard.

I'd like to think they got him to film some more inserts for when Rosie comes back but I suspect that is it now. I really do hope they allow them to stay together with Jonny just off screen when she returns.

Also, might be jumping ahead, but if Rosie does fall pregnant again and need to go on a second maternity leave, or even leave all together, they could write it in, just say she is pregnant to Jonny again

Having seen the instagram pic of Jac back on set, I cannot wait to see her back on screen!

It's a shame in a way that Ollie is being paired up with Zosia as he and Jac would be good together I think.

I wonder will she and Jonny have split up off screen or will she just mention it in passing a few months down the road? Or will they keep them together for now in case Rosie wants a second baby reasonably quickly.

I really hope they keep them together off screen and as you say (and has been discussed previously) I do think it would be a good idea should rosie need another Maternity leave soon.

The only reasons i can see to have them split up would be if they wanted her to have another love interest or they worry she will have lost her 'edge' if she is happy in her personal life.

Otherwise, i don't see why they can't just have them concentrate on professional matters.

There are plenty of personal relationships they can cover anyway. She was/is Ollie's mentor and friend so mught worry about him and Zosia. Guy Self might have a grievance against her given how she just left him in the lurch with the SuperCentre and it appears didn't even dump him properly personally. Elliot if she doesn't get her old position back. And Chizzy has said in interviews she'd like Mo to get more ambitious and take on Jac in the glory hunting stakes.

If they have split them up (and As I say, i don't see why they should have to) they'll have to deal with what has happened to Emma and I couldn't bear it if Jonny had her full time or there was another custody battle bubbling on in the background. Hopefully they'd have the sense to have one line in saying they'd agreed to joint custody amicably.

But, as said, i hope they just have them be together without it coming up too often - maybe just the odd mention.

I too think they should be kept together off screen for the foreseeable future. As you say, Jac has plenty of potential storylines to be getting on with besides romantic ones.

Jac's back next week for her one off appearance filmed back in July. Then i guess it'll be about 6 weeks before she returns properly though she isn't in the Autumn trailer.

This isn't confirmed so just speculating but it looks like elliot might be leaving which solves the problem of her coming back as Clinical Lead.

Yes, it looks very likely that Elliot will be going - heading off with Brigitte most likely. I will not miss him as much as I once would have done, thanks to his treatment (bad) of Jac and (preferential) of Adele.

So Jac could very well end up Clinical Lead once more. I fear that Mo will butt heads with her rather than be supportive, though.

Also Jesse looks to be heading to Keller - I am convinced that he and Adele do not make it to the altar. Adele's new hairstyle is lovely and I'm hoping they tone down the character and make her more bearable.

I also can't wait for Jac/Ollie interaction, I hope they make a strong team and have a great, mutually supportive friendship.

Yes, I can see there being friction with Mo - Chizzy said in an interview a few months ago she'd like to see Mo step up and be more of a rival to Jac.

They have to have Jac conflicting with somebody, Mo seems the likliest candidate, again probably with most of the department taking Mo's side. Adele, taken as read, Zosia seems o be bonding with her in the trailer and always hard to tell with Ollie.

I won't miss Elliot that much either. Always sad to lose a good actor but I'm really not sure what more they can do with him as a character. Really, how many more times can we have a new Head Honcho come in, assume he's a bumbling fool not worth his salary only to be proved wrong when his genius shows through. Or have him turn a junior member of staff around by mentoring him/her. Also, as you say, the favoritism thing got on my wick too.

I am slightly peeved that they seem to be retconning him and gina's history by saying Brigitte was his 'first love'. I though elliot and Gina were meant to have met as Freshers, got together immediately so they'd already been married 25 years when she died, despite only being in their early/mid 40s.

Agree with all the above. I do hope they give Jac at least one person in her corner (or at least not openly against her) and Ollie is the most likely candidate, given as you say, the bonding between Mo and Zosia in the preview.

Yes, I do think it's a retcon making Brigitte Elliot's first love rather than Gina. Or maybe they were all friends and she loved him from afar, so to speak. I also thought the actress was not good in the scene with Elliot where she announced her love for him - it was totally cringey imo.

I also agree that there is little new that could be done with Elliot and giving him a hea is most likely. Personally I think it would have been brave of them to kill him off with heart attack - doughnut payback!! With added pathos that none of his own team could save him.

They will probably leave the killing off for Jac though, when her time comes, knowing them!!

She's had her HEA now, even if only for a few months so i suspect they will go for the drama of killing her off if Rosie indicated that she was leaving for good. I just hope that they'll decide that any possible chance of a return is worth not lilling her off for. Still suspect they'll do something nasty though, have her struck off or similar because she is a 'sociopath' after all who we're not meant to like.

I'm apprehensive about jac's return, I want her back but do worry about what they will do with her.

If they have her be backstabbing and nasty, when she has the job she's always wanted and a happy personal life then she is just going to be a bitch and even i will wonder what on earth it will take for her to ease up. If they've had her break up to keep her edge, i'll despair as well.

True but Elliot might have decided against the Research job and stayed on Darwin full time. We suspect (but do not know for sure) that he is leaving, which would pave the way for Jac to be made Clinical Lead of Darwin on her return. Unless they bring in someone new (unlikely) or open it up to Mo or Ollie (again unlikely).

I'm also not sure it was ever stated that Elliot would be resigning his post as Darwin Clinical Lead to take on the Research role - it is just possible that he would have had responsibility for both. Also, even if he were only around one day a week (and i couldn't see that happening long term, he loves surgery too much) I'm sure that all his little mentees would be running to him to 'talk' to Jac whenever she said something they didn't like. That's just what they are like and he doesn't do anything to discourage them. It was the same last Winter, really Jac was Head in name only as Elliot constantly undermined her with the staff.

Mo must be senior to Ollie. She's about 40 isn't she so assuming she passed all her exams first time (and given how good she's meant to be, i imagine she did) she must have been a Registrar for well over 10 years. Whereas, given Ollie only started as a F1 in 2006 (/ years ago) he can only just have made that position. He was applying for the CT2 position when he left 2 years ago.

Also, when jac went to San Fran soon after Mo started, there was a reference that Mo would be acting up to cover her list so i assume she must have passed her Consultants exam, just never actually got the position. Maybe because she doesn't want to, much like Sacha.

I get the impression that Mo kind of side stepped into specialising in Transplant rather than going up the 'management' career route to become a Consultant.

I can see that changing though just so they can have her in more conflict with Jac, also because they seem to have forgotten about Mo's being in charge of transplants. It's gone back to just being any Darwin surgeon running Transplants as it was before Jonny and Mo's introduction.

Not because Jonny had taken over as my fave partner for Jac. I did always feel there was a connection with Joseph lacking with Jonny but i did also feel that jac truly loved both of them in different ways.

It is just that I'm sure they"'ve done it so they can keep jac in the nasty, bitter, unfulfilled, incapable of loving or being loved because she is so damaged pigeon hole because it is easier to write her that way than have any real character development.

I saw it coming, Iu predicted it here but did think they might at least wait until her proper return.

But Jac did not come across as bitter, more that she accepted that she and Jonny were never going to work.

I think we will find out that it came to a natural end and they are sharing custody of Emma and trying their best to make the separation work for all 3 of them. That's what I am predicting, anyway.

Jac might have seemed flippant about it but she was right - it was never going to work between them. She seems in a very good place to me. The only sadness was her realisation that Joseph could have loved her AS WELL AS Harry, it did not have to be an either or situation as she took it to be at the time.

Being the avid Joseph lover that I am I was over the moon about it, even if he never comes back their relationship finally got the recognition that it deserved.

That's my take on it, anyway. I loved just about everything about the episode, I could even live with the Elliot retcon as it lead to a happy ending for him. And he was lovely to Jac also so he finally redeemed himself in my eyes. And best of all, Adele wasn't there!!!

She could still have talked about Joseph and that she'd come to realise she was wrong at that time if it was meant to be there to make elliot leave. Or, she could even have said that she was wrong at the time and she'd always love and miss Joseph, but she'd got a second chance with Jonny., thus encouraging elliot to feel that a second chance with Brigitte could work and wouldn't be a betrayal of Gina or her memory as he would always love and miss her too.

I also actually think that they over simplified her reasons for not going. It wasn't that she couldn't 'share' him with Harry as she was obviously prepared to when they reconciled on the day of Harry's birth. I think she could cope with that whilst they were in Holby. What she wasn't prepared to do was give up everything, her career, her friends, the life she knew when she wouldn't be 'first'. Also, she appreciated that Harry had to come first back then, she said so.

I don't think the relationship needed that validation now. We got it in his final episodes (especially their last scene) and even her reaction to his remarrying in 'Push the Button' and connie's episode last year. I don't think her love for him has ever been in doubt, even through her relationship with Jonny. It was just that she'd accepted she had to move on, and allowed herself to grow to love somebody else. Why couldn't it have been left like that?

Joseph has moved on as well. Letks not foget that he has married somebody else and was inept enough to send her an invite with no warning. If any dount as to the 'validity' or their 'true love' has come from anywhere, it is that and his actions.

So, it just comes across to me, that jac is the loser, once again. Joseph is allowed to move on and have a normal, happy marriage with somebody who we assume loves him and his child (probably more by now) but Jac isn't.

I still say that they could have kept them together off screen, with the mention of Joseph and idea that she loves both of them in different ways. And then, if by some miracle, Roberts wanted to return, they could have played out Jac not knowing what to do, not wanting to leave the 'stability' of her 'second choice/chance' and family life with the father of hef child but finding the pull of Joseph too strong to resist.

Unless they do actually have a return up their sleeves, i just didn't really see the point of breaking her and Jonny up, especially by the implication that nobody else is ever going to be good enough.

I do also wish they haDn't done it so flippantly and scornfully. For all Jonny's faults, he deserved better than that - if only because he is emma's father and generally a good one. You'd think elliot would have been more concerned too. I'd have preferred a quiet "we tried, but there was just too much water under the bridge and hurt done to each other to make it work but it's amicable". That could still come of course, but who to? Mo will probably be on the offensive for Jonny being hurt again (even if he is okay with it) and nobody else was invested enough in their relationship to care.

I agree she didn't come across as bitter tonight but i think that is how she'll be upon her return.

I seriously feel like just switching off and not coming back until Jac does and if they take her the way i expect them to, i might switch off again then and just pretend that The spring washer final exit and the last we saw of her was that Skype chat.

I don't want to see Jac come back all bitter and twisted any more than you do - but I don't think she will. Time will tell I guess but I am hoping that she will come back happy and confident and ready to take up the reins on Darwin.

Plenty of couples split up and share custody and do ok - they have already done the custody thing to death so I really can't see them going back there again.

I'm probably not thinking about it rationally. It is just that, although he wasn't Joseph, i did like Jonny and had come back round to them being together and i loved that she'd moved on enough emotionally to put her career on hold (when she was about to get a major promotion) to spend months with Emma and also Jonny to build a new family. And she looked happy - when they got on they were really cute together and i think a good couple who 'fitted' well with each other.

To have it all dismissed, not only that ending in March but the last 3 and a half years, in one flip line, seeming to say it never stood a chance because he was 'just' a Nurse and she could only ever be happy with Joseph and ++++ed it up just really upsets me. It makes me sick in a way i did when Joseph would fawn over Faye or when Jonny did the same with Bonnie and was throwing 'bad mother' hatred around. It makes me feel this way because i don't think it is fair on Jonny (who I did like), on those of us that invested in the Janny relationship or even as Jac as a character as I think it made her seem really snobby and horrible to be so scorngul about him. Yes, she is acerbic and hides her feelings under a hard vaneer but she was with elliot and had just been very emotionally open and honest with him so why couldn't she continue to do so unless she really does think that Jonny is 'nothing'.

Well, as you know I never really liked Jonny or accepted him as a worthy partner for Jac so I am fine with how they dealt with the break up. I always viewed them leaving together as a temporary arrangement as we knew Jac would return and he would not.

I see her growth in relation to Emma and being a good mother to her, which I think will continue. I think she is ready now to have a loving relationship - if the right man comes along. Jonny was never that man imho - he was immature, childish and had a very nasty streak. I think she will fly solo for some time, romantically speaking.

If Joseph returns of course that would be my dream and be utterly fantastic but if he does not I would like her to meet someone strong and honourable with a bit of fun thrown in, who sees her for what she is (wonderful) and loves her unconditionally. And who makes her face light up just as Joseph did. Jonny never made her face light up that I could see.
