Ah well, we'll have to agree to disagree.

I do agree that Jonny could be all the things you describe, childish, immature with a nasty streak (notably in that horrible year of Bonnie and custody battle) but i did also think, at his best he was strong, (strong enough to stand up to her, important to Jac) honorable and thought she was wonderful. When he overstepped the mark professionally it was because he cared about her and was trying to protect her. He also had a huge dosage of fun which is what i liked about their relationship. He was similar to Joseph, (basically moral, strong, kind but with a nasty streak if pushed) but different enough for it not to be a repeat of that relationship and yes, i felt she had learned enough to be able to have a good, loving relationship. I thought she was back in 2013 when she came back from Japan and said she loved him.

I can't see me investing in any other relationship - it was hard enough accepting Joseph was a thing of the past to have an open mind about Jonny but for me they did it, found another man that worked really well with her, especially in the first year. I can't see them managing it again. Also, i don't think jac gives her heart easily. I believed she loved Joseph. I believed she loved Jonny. For me to believe she loves a third one would be too much, she'd just seem somewhat fickle. Or I'd be constantly expecting them to turn round and pull a 'we were just kidding' switch again like they seemed to have done with Jonny now.

So, unless they have actually got a Luke Roberts return up their sleeves (which I don't but would love) then Jac's romantic life is dead to me so i hope they do keep her single. I'm not much interested in watching 'rinse and repeat' of her being treated like ++++ by her staff and having to constantly prove herself when she shouldn't have to either.

So unless we're going to get some cute Emma scenes, i'm struggling to see anything i want to watch. And i've been struggling to watch HC without her so this might be me waving bye, bye to the show.

I'm sure i could find a couple of examples when her face lit up. Not in the same way as Joseph because they were different men but still.

I think I'm with you on this one though kitkat - the only parts of Tuesday's episode I didn't like were the Jonny/Jac revelation (in a totally non-revelatory way ) and losing Elliott, who I will miss - and have to admit that whole Brigitte thing seemed a bit off kilter to me too, although did like Jac's take on her. Otherwise I thought the episode was a real triumph, and somehow Dom is now one of my favourites - how ever did that happen? !!!

I too really liked Jonny and he and Jac worked together (to me) just as well as her and Joseph (although in a different way). And can definitely remember at least one occasion when he lit her face up - ?good old Sean even commented on it - something about her glowing, and I think our very own clover might have called her 'twinkly' .

Although am wondering if they know something we don't re. Rosie leaving and have a plan to somehow dispose of the inconvenient Jennifer and give Jac a HSA with her one and only Joseph. (or perhaps I'm just being stupidly hopeful again!)

To be honest, the only way i can really forgive them throwing Jonny under a bus like this (and that is what I feel they have done) is if they have had conversations and know there is no way Thomson will/can return for at least a couple of years (if at all) but that Roberts would be willing/able to so are setting it up for Joseph to come back. After all, if Janny can split up after less than 6 months when we've seen their relationship, there is no reason that they can't say that Joseph and Jennifer didn't work out after nearly 3 years of marriage.

I still say they could have had her be with Jonny off screen which would actually lead to more drama should Joseph return as there would have been the betrayal/guilt element to them getting back together.

I am convinced they are gearing up for a Joseph return. Jac hasn't mentioned him since he left and for them to bring him up now out of the blue seems strange. I don't think it will be a full time return though, I actually think it will be for Rosie's leaving story! I remember reading an interview with rosie and she said that Roberts had promised to return when she leaves to see Jac out whenever that might be.

He has been mentioned a few times, noticeably about 2 years after he left when we learnt he was remarrying and then again last year when Connie brought him and his 'lovely new wife' up to score points against Jac. Both times jac's reaction made it clear that he was still a very sensitive subject for him but not so much as to stop her having feelings / love for Jonny which is why i think them introducing the idea that there was never any real hope for her and Jonny because Joseph is 'the one' was unnecessary.

Rosie did indeed say that but it was soon after Roberts left and a lot can change in 5 years. Even if the actor would like to do it, it's not always possible schedule wise and Roberts spends a lot of time working in America now.

Either they did it as a way of trying to end Janny for good and go back to Jac being unhappy relationship wise so she can keep her 'edge' or yes, Roberts has indicated he would still be happy to return and Thomson has said he wouldn't so they are clearing the way for that possibility.

What makes me think that it is unlikely we would have Joseph back for a HEA is that it would almost be a repeat of how she left with Jonny in April.

I can't help thinking that when she goes, they'll stick with viewing her as an anti heroine and thus 'unworthy' of a happy ending, so will go for the drama of killing her or having her leave in disgrace instead.

I hope i'm wrong though.

I hope you're wrong! I am still holding out for a return as I never quite got over the fact that they didn't end up together. I knowthat Rosie is a massive advocate of Jacjoe and I would imagine she would have an input into how she leaves.

Oh i think she might be given some input - Jaye Jacobs was when Donna left but apparently she didn't think it was a good idea for Jac to fall pregnant and was over ruled which proves TPTB will go by what they think is best for the character and show, rather than an actors wishes on some quite major things. Son i do still believe that if they think a death would be better, a death it will be.

I was more meaning that even if everybody involved (writers, Marcel and Roberts) wanted it, it might not be possible if Roberts is working on something else and just can't make the filming dates. That's what happened with Tom Chambers as they wanted Sam back for Maria's exit and he was willing but working on Waterloo Road at the time so just couldn't do it.

I hope i'm wrong too. I actually liked both Joseph and Jonny, think they are both great in different ways and would really be happy with a return and happy ending for her with either of them.

I think if Joseph were to return they would possibly have him still married to Jennifer, possibly unhappily, but still not making it easy for a reunion with Jac. They would want to string it out (as they did with the whole Faye SL) as much as possible.

But ultimately they would end up together, of course, Luke Roberts might commit to a 6 or 9 month contract to facilitate this - it would most likely be Rosie's leaving SL, of course.

With all this talk of Joseph i thought I'd see what Roberts is up to.

His last 2 jobs since Wold Hall were/are both American productions and the most recent one (Black Sails) films out in South Africa. Now i don't know ho big his part is, or how long it is scheduled to go on for but this show is currently filming it's 3rd season and doing fairly well so likely to go on for a while. If he is a regular, then i would think it would be quite hard for him to pop back to the UK to film Holby, even for just a couple of episodes.

Re your post Collins, Iu suspect they would still have him be married to make it difficult. But frankly, that rather annoys me. I'd have liked him to be the one to realise that he can't make it work with anybody but Jac and end the relationship first, then return with the express intent of winning her back. Only to find it difficult because she is with somebody (Jonny), making it work even though it is a 'different type of love' before she finally does opt for Joseph.

That would be my 'dream' way of doing it, as i still feel that Joseph really let her down, with Faye, then with just deciding to leave with Harry and it basically being "do everything my way, without consultation or it has to be over" and then finally the ++++y wedding invite and needs to be the one making all the running for a change.

I've just read Simon harper's interview in Inside Soap and it really doesn't fill me with confidence for any of the show, especially Jac. When asked who she will butt heads with he answers "everybody" and that she has an all black wardrobe and a habit of putting spectacles on whenever she wants to terrify somebody. Also that she has a specific storyline with Fran which will have a shocking conclusion and will be majorly clashing with Mo.

Does that sound like somebody who is reasonably content or somebody that is unhappy and bitter? All black wardrobe? Seriously? I guess there could be an argument for sayng it is just her 'front' professionally and she is different personally but how are we going to see any private insight if she is butting heads with "everyone"? I still say they have split her and Jonny up so she can go back to default 'bitch' mode which I just hate.

More interestingly oliver was only supposed to be back for 6 months to cover off Jac's absence but they've asked Anderson to stay on because they are pleased with the Zollie dynamic. Also says that when you've got a relationship like that with popular characters and actors that the audience like you do,'t muck around with it. Yeah! Why did you piss all over Janny then? Repeatedly?!

They don't say too much spoiler - says she has a dramatic Christmas with a 'blast from the past' (really clueless as to who that could be except Granddad or sister) but also says the 'story involves Jac's child and someone who's either had an accident or is purposely pushed'. I'd guess that person is Fran, she has an accident and Jac is blamed for it?

Going to be hard on Oliver and Zosia (we all say that one coming).

She again reiterates that Joseph is the only person for Jac and that Jonny was a 'distraction'. Also appears to be taking the throw away comment at face value, stating that nothing is said on screen but they did split because Jonny is 'just a nurse' and has no desire to 'be anything else which isn't good enough for Jac as she is shallow. Also, that nobody could put up with her for very long.

Also, that the split allows her to toughen up and go back to 'being Jac' and that's good as 'fans don't like her showing a softer side'. And rosie prefers playing her nasty and wouldn't have stuck with it if she wasn't a cow.

Well, I'm obviously in the minority in not minding the softer side and wanting to see some character development rather than just defaulting back to 'bitch mode' and the interviews even more make me believe that is the reason they've had them split rather than have her have a reasonably settled and fulfilled home life with man as well as baby - and yes I know a man isn't necessary to be fulfilled.

Yes I know. It's not what I see on sites such as here and HTV (which you'd think they'd be aware of if they are monitoring social media as DS is so big and HTV is semi officially sanctioned by the BBC with interviews and set visits)) but no idea about Twitter. But also, without being funny, is another actors Twitter feedback the most accurate indicator? Surely most people that follow twitter going to be Mo's (and maybe by extension Jonny's) fans so looking at things from that perspective?

I love rosie, and she is a fantastic actress, no doubt about it and it seems churlish to complain when she has given us such a wonderful portrayed for 10years, but i almost think that her enjoyment of playing a baddie and belief that she is sociopathic etc is a real roadblock in any significant or longterm character development they might want. It should be a good thing that her opinions on Jac are listened to but I'm beginning to think not.

We know she was against Jac having a baby in the first place and only relented about it after jac had given Emma up. Well at least they haven't had that happen again (yet because i wouldn't be surprised if they did it again) but Rosie also states that "Jac has been bored on maternity leave and can't wait to get back to work. She's back to the person that would do anything to get a promotion" so it hardly sounds as though Jac has found any fulfillment as a Mother with a 'work/life' balance does it? Jonny or no Jonny. Which, by the way, i hate the diea that it is something as nasty, petty and shallow as being happy only being a nurse. That has been true since the day he started, did she always feel like that? If so, what was the bloody point of any of it - for jac, for Jonny, for the viewers? I know he's left but even so, i maintain they didn't have to split them up or could have given another reason. I'd have accepted "too much water under the bridge, Jac cheating with Sean, Bonnie or the custody case come up every time they disagree about anything so decided best to maintain a friendship but not relationship for Emma's sake" explanation. But, that would indicate some level of maturity or emotional intelligence which they seem determined to deny her.

Also, if she really is that shallow and "nobody could put up with her for long" - isn't that going to be an issue if/when she ever reconciles with Joseph? Won't he "just be a GP"? Unless of course he has gone back to Surgery in which case they'll be in competition with each other and "shek"l trample anybody to get ahead" whiich surely wouldn't be helpful, not to mention how would they see their children?

I just feel like we've been zapped back to 2006/2007 and whilst it was entertaining, her experiences then and since should have led to growth and they had - until now.

Rosie seems to dislike any softness or vulnerability in Jac (yet she plays it so well ) and this is a definite block to character dvelopment as far as I am concerned.

I wish with all my heart that she had left with Joseph 4 years ago as I have not really liked what they have done with her since then. I'd even accept her leaving with Jonny and Emma as second best.

But to bring her back in full bitch mode; her being bored being a mum (bang goes her emotional connection with Emma); her breaking up with Jonny because he is a nurse (where is the woman who put herself on the line to save him professionally and respected him as a human being and a life partner??) and just wants to be super boss - that is just awful.

You see the thing is, whilst Jac in 2006/2007 - and in fact, she wasn't THAT bad in her first few months - bitched at Nick - deserved - and Diane - not deserved but other than that, a reasonable human being and professional who respected Nurses. Whilst she was fascinating to watch, i don't think many people actually 'liked' her including me. But it was okay because there were some glimpses of vulnerability and part of it was trying to figure out why she was like she was and we got hints of her backstory.

Now we know it and can understand why she was like that and why she will sometimes slip up. Slip ups are find, human, believable. It is, after all, more than possible that jac might not have been a warm, fluffy and 'nice' person even if she hadn't had her horrendous upbringing.

But everything that has happened in her 10 years, good and bad had (and should) have softened her a little and at least made her see the errors of her ways so 'play nicer' to get results, even if it goes against the grain.

Having her revert makes her seeom stupid as well as ungrateful. Whilst somebody acting up is just about believable when they have NOTHING and have never been treated well so do,'t understand it when it happens (as with Joseph first time round) it is completely unforgivable when they actually have things in their life many would kill for - a great career, money, beautiful child and the love of a good man - even if he could be childish at times and was 'just' a Nurse.

Not sure I'd fo as far as saying she should have gone in 2011 and thus miss out on Emma and finally see her become Consultant but Unless I'm very wrong about ehere it is going, i would certainly rather Leaving with Jonny had been her end. We could always have imagined her reconciling with Joseph further down the line off screen.

It just feels like not only will we get no progress, they'll just trample over anything good that has happened the longer she is on screen.

KIBU and didn't Elliot leave the prototype on her desk with a note saying "the challenge, should you choose to accept it" so i guess she'll continue the research.

It might have been Herzig rather than KIBU but the implication was Elliot giving his blessing for Jac to continue his research projects under her own name. About the only bit of that episode I liked!

But yes, I don't trust any continuity these days. Or, they'll have Elliot send a message saying the she has 'let him down' being horrible to Oliver, Mo, Zosia and no longer deserves to be associated with the projects and she is 'stealing' it by carrying on.

I agree about her thinking Jonny is 'only' a Nurse (I'm never going to get over that I don't think) and anything for a promotion goes so against how she left in April - finally putting her baby and the reputation and innocence of not only her baby's fatherbut a good man, a Nurse, above the 'important man' that was trying to destroy him but also offering her an incredibly prestigious and powerful step up in her career. Whether she was in love with Jonny or viewed him as a life partner was almost irrelevant although i maintain that she did and he left with her on that understanding.

Do you now what, i hated everything from Joseph eaving to sahira leaving. Had the odd good scene of bitching, but more to vulnerability but I hated Jac being bitch Againsy Sahiras and in my head, I was fanfictioing shy she was like that due to Joseph's leaving amd his coming back.

So, after 15 months, i was ready for some 'stress reliief' for her. As I said at the time, Jonny canhave the body and fun, the heart and soul remains with Joseph.

The fact that i became engaged with Jac and Jonny's relationship and could believe that a love could develop from that casual relationship, a love very different to that she shared with Joseph, but equally valid, is a credit to the writing and actors chemistry.
And now they"ve pissed all over all of it.

Oh, I agree (again!) - I hated the Sahira era with a passion. She was a saint and was always right and Jac was a bitch and was always wrong. It did my head in.

Sadly, i think we are in for more of every character she butts heads with being wonderful whilst she is nEedlessly horrible.

I've got an appointment booked for 7pm on Tuesday - was going to try and rearrange it but think i'll leave it as it is and just miss the beginning and risk it not taping as I don't really want to watch anyway.

Might just watch episodes from this time in former years instead, her getting together with Joseph, reconciling with him before Harry's birth, early days with Jonny - whose birthday it should be next week by the way.

I've seen some more spoilers re jac and Fran over Xmas which i can't post easily now (you have to use the desktop site to get to spoiler tags bit which really hurts my eyes on my mobile) but they, along with the winter trailer lead me to speculate (i emphasise speculate) that Collins was correct and their former link was from childhood/teenage years and they might be revisiting the concept that Jac was sexually abused. It just it stikes me that Fran might have been and perhaps it was by the same person but Jac refused to press charges or confirm details which lead to him getting off. Or maybe, Fran somehow knows ( god knows how) that Jac not doing something about it meant he was free to later attack her? That could explain why she seems to dislike Jac rather than sympathizing with her as you'd expect another abuse victim too and perhaps why Jac doesn't know her if Fran was younger in the same Care home.

As i say, just guesswork, speculation but the article says something about Jac confronting her own demons and we know that firstly she refused to report Alan Clooney when he tried to rape her in 07 and that secondly, originally the script confirmed (but it was cut) that Jac had been raped before. So, maybe she refused to report it then too.

Or maybe, thinking about it, Clooney attacked Fran between him attacking Jac and being killed whilst attacking somebody else and Fran found out Jac's history with him later (jac was arrested after all) and thinks had Jac gone to the Police She would have been safe?

It's all i can think of really, unless Jac killed a relative of Fran's by persuading them to have risky/innovative surgery.
