I wonder if Jac was supposed to have told Sacha that she might be pregnant. I know their conversation was hypothetical but the way he imnmediately said, you would and 'mini Naylor - there's a thought' made it seem like he knew or maybe he just guessed that she was considering trying for one, if not that she was already in that club.

I fell even more in love with Jonny tonight. My ovaries really haven't convulsed this much since Joesph used to cuddle and look adoringly at Harry. He was so good with those 2 litttle girls - and I mean Louise as well as Eve.

That episode had me on the verge of tears at so many points! Jac and Sacha really need more scenes together, they work so well together. I also love the fact that they cast a ginger kid as Eve

I don't think the writers quite know how hormones work though... if you had a miscarriage in the morning I'm fairly sure that hCG would still be floating around your system in the afternoon!

My mother has just pointed out that funny as it was, perhaps it wasn't the most politically correct thing in the world to tell the story where the villai n is a skinny, ginger witch to a ginger child!

He is such a nice guy and I do feel for him trying to understand Jac as she is not easy to read sometimes.
It took me a long time to get convinced but Johnny is the one for Jac.. He would make a great dad and Jac a great mum. I am convinced in this episode that Jac wants to and is ready to be a mother.

I was laughing throughout that scene with Mo and Evie. It maybe politically incorrect but Mo was too funny. It was one of the best comical Holby scenes.

Jac and Sacha were the best scenes (apart from Sacha and Rachel) very endearing and sad at the same time. I was also wondering whether Jac was hinting to Sacha that she was pregnant.

Oh I did love the fairy story an also thought maybe it signalled Mo's acceptance of the situation (even to the extent of wanting Jac and Jonny to reconcile). She has tried to break Jac's spell over Jonny and realises that she can't as it is too strong but that's okay because they are going to be happy with their baby. So long as Mo still get's her Tuesday nights.

I might have imagined it but on doing a quick re-watch thought I noticed a slight catch/hesitation in Mo's voice when (in the fairytale scene) she was talking about the story having a happy ending with the witch having a baby, getting fat ankles and the fgm and Scottish prince going off for pints and crisps etc.
If I didn't imagine it wonder if this is a very subtle way of introducing the fact that, because of everything that happened with William, Mo might find it difficult to see Jac being pregnant.

Also, JY said on Twitter that he knows what happens until Christmas so am thinking our 'Christmas fun - Baby Naylonie' combination might be spot on!!!!!!!!

It would be unrealistic if Mo didn't think about her pregnancy, William and what she lost (even though he wasn't biologically hers) when her best friend and colleague have a baby. It's a credit to her good character that she (so far at least) seems to be supportive and putting any upset or nmaybe even jealousy to one side.

I think we are back to the nice Mo that was introduced last Spring after having had a few months of her being a bit of a nasty, judgemental cow towards the end of last year.

I agree. Mo was MUCH more likeable in this episode. She was very funny with Jac and the fairy story was hilarious. Hope she stays like this.

Jac and Sasha were fantastic together. Their friendship is totally believeable, just magic stuff.

I doubt that we'll see it and I know there will be more pressing things to be concerned about, but I wonder what Chrissie's reaction to Sacha's shaved head, and the fact that he asked someone other than her to do it, will be. It may seem like a little thing but it is indicitave of the growing distance between them I think.

Agree with you about the Jonny-Eve interactions - they were soo sweet, and wasn't that little girl just gorgeous?! He was also brilliant with Louise too (although thought Jac was a touch judgemental with her in the beginning - although she did redeem herself later on with the Gillick competence call.)


And good on Jac for warning Oli about his behaviour - I know he's having a bad time at the moment but if he can't handle the fact that sometimes people have to be rushed into surgery (maybe before they're ready for it) to save their lives then he shouldn't be at work (seeing as how he does work on a cardiac surgery ward)!!!

There was quite a bit of this throughout the entire episode - Sasha seems almost dismissive of Chrissie and her opinions in relation to Rachel's illness. Whilst that is totally understandable, she IS his wife and an experienced nurse and the fact that he really is not turning to her at this time is quite telling, I think.

I wonder who the Producers originally had in mind to shave his head or whether it had even got thar far, they probably asked if Bob would be willing to do it before the script started to be written.

I did think it was very strange that Chrissie was in the coversation with Nathan about Rachel's trreatment. I know she is Sacha's wife but she is not Rachel's mother or primary carer - surely that would be a meeting involving Rachel's 2 parents and no-one else (staff or not) but of course, they haven't cast Helen.

Jac was very judgemental with louise at the start which I didn't like but to try and defend it, I think she has a real problem with mothers bringing children into the World if they are not responsible and capable of looking after them and she probably just made a snap judgement that 14 is too young to be. Very unfair though.

I was wondering how long they give the actors with young kids that come in as that little girl just seemed so at ease with him. I know toddlers are trusting and inclined to chat and play with anyone that makes an effort and pays them attention (which is of course which makes themn so vulnerable) but even so. Also, how they are coached to learn their lines when that young or whether they just let them respond naturally (ad libbing almost)to the adult's line 'we're goiong to have fun aren't we - yeah' as outnumbered did when it first started.

The annoying thing about a 23:40:26 of Oli's current attitude problems is that they are contradictory and don't make sense.

He has a problem with Elliot because he didn't tell Ollie sooner that Tara was ill. Ollie's reasoning being that he could have got Tara treatment earlier and she might have survived. Except that the only treatment available was surgery so Elliot telling him earlier would just have resluted in her being operated on earlier and as she died on the table, dying earlier. Plus the fact that he did have weeks between Tara telling him and her having the operation when he got nowhere. Fact is, it was Tara's decision and she wasn't going to risk an op until the tumout grew, no matter when Ollie found it.

He has a problem with people being rushed into surgery (presumbably believing that they don't fully understand the dangers) because, we are lead to believe that tara was rushed in and would be alive now if she hadn't been. Except...Tara knew of every potential complication and if anyone was encouraging her to do it, it was Ollie. Her mother had reservatioins. Hell, on the day, jac had reservations because of her raised temperature. Ollie was adamant that it go ahead.

Of course though, Ollie can't accept any blame himself or that ultiamately Tara made her decisions. Much easier to kick out at people like Elliot and Jac - even though it makes no sense whatsoever.

Also, as I've previously said, you always hurt the ones you love, and I suspect that Jac and Elliot are the closest thing to parent (or maybe older sister) that Ollie has. Deep down he knows they will give him leeway - elliot because he is Elliot and great with everyone (except jac) and jac because she and Ollie do have a connection, prodessionally and personally. I doubt that Ric or hansenn would let him get away with it and subconsciously, Ollie knows that.

But I suppose grief often is very irrational, and as you say I think he does know he can 'get away with it' to a certain degree with both Jac and Elliott.


On a sort of grief-related theme can I just say how lovely I thought it was of Jac to wait and let Sacha tell Bery the extremely good news about Betty (that was such a sweet storyline!) - after the truly crappy day he'd had she must have known it'd give him a bit of a boost, so forsook her opportunity to be the 'good guy' to give Sacha that chance!!

I expect they must have asked him first and then when he suggested that Jac/Rosie be the one to do it they must have just run with it - bet JY was over the moon when he heard


Yeah I was a bit surprised that they haven't introduced Helen to the mix - does seem highly unlikely that she wouldn't be there for important meetings like that (but maybe they don't want to introduce any more new characters??)


You would think they'd need some time to help the children settle down and get comfortable with all the actors they'd be working with (and to get used to the sets etc.) Although I don't think it takes too long - my niece (who's 5 in July) would have been a bit shy to start with but would soon have warmed up, especially with all those books to look at/toys to play with that they had (and if her mum was nearby). I wonder if they just film what they get with Michael saying his lines as well as possible in the circumstances and then cut it all together at the end. Really I suppose all you'd need is for the little girl playing Eve to be quiet when Jonny was speaking, because everything else would just be an added bonus - if you got some nice interactive moments between the two of them so much the better.

I also felt that Jac was very snappy and judgemental with the patient without fully understanding her background at first but I can understand why she behaved like this. I am sure she was thinking about her own mother perhaps and how irresponsible she was with Jac. Having said that, she atoned for it (as Jac usually does in other ways) by operating on her although the patient needed a parent's signature.

One thing which puzzled me was, did Louis live on her own all that time and where were her parents ? Shouldn't she have been at school still?

No idea. I don't think they actually ventured into probing as to how is she actually supporting herself.

Now... am I the only one who thinks that Jonny saw the test result before he asked Jac what does actually wants the test result to be?

Oooohh I hadn't thought of that but would there have been enough time - doesn't it normally take 2-3 minutes for the result to show??

Also, on another point wasn't really that impressed with Jac's post test-taking hand washing - infection control would have had a fit if they'd seen her!!!


(I also wasn't sure about the whole Louise thing either - seemed highly unlikely to me that she'd have been able to survive on her own with a little one for 2 years, and was also wondering what they were planning on doing with Eve whilst Louise was recovering from the op...loose ends which I'm assuming will just be left untied!!! Yeah, re-watching the scene made the think the same thing about her hand washing, not at all effective, no soap, for example.

And true, the test does take a few minutes to show any result, but considering that the count didn't start from the beginning of the scene, but before that, it's possible that it was giving a result already by the end of the scene (which admittedly lasted about 50 seconds). I've seen similarly working (the method of obtaining results within the test stick/thing) tests starting to show positive results long before the "time of test" has passed. It has made me think that the time you're expected to wait is "if no line in the test section appears by this time, the result is negative, provided the control line appears" (and control lines usually do appear very quickly as well, just showing the test is actually working).

I have no experience of pregnancy tests at all so will bow to your superior knowledge - suppose it's a possibility then (but again something I don't suppose we'll ever know). Will have to re-watch and see what his facial expression was like after he looked at but before he covered it.......

Yep - no soap, really only running the (at least hot) water over the tips of her fingers - she definitely didn't follow the 12 step procedure the NHS teaches (although that is meant to take at least 30 secs [over half the scene] so maybe understandable)
