Three are not doing as well as networks not offering 3g, which is pretty much what I have always predicted. The majority of customers in the UK put a higher value on quality of service and dont yet see the need for video calls, especially when chances are that making a video call at that special moment will be ruined by lack of 3g coverage!!!! When you think about it, Three's 80% coverage is about the same that Vodafone was in 1991 !!

I think T-Mobile's results are very poor. They lost 52,000 customers 17.6% market share & Profit per user (£ EBITDA per quarter) of £17. I think T-Mobile really need to look at their tarrifs particularly their pay as you go tarrifs which is very poor value for money these days.

See below: Calling costs on Relax pay as you go When your monthly airtime usage is: Up to £10 cost per minute= 30p £10 - £20 cost per minute= 20p £20 - £40 cost per minute= 10p £40+ cost per minute= 5p* **Subject to customer usage exceeding £40 for 3 consecutive months. The 5p/min rate will then apply to all local and national calls and calls to any UK network whenever usage exceeds £40 in each subsequent month, and applies for the remainder of that month. Cost comparisons are based on an average call profile of 480 minutes per calendar month of 50% peak-time, 25% evenings, 25% weekends; and 36% to landlines, 38% to own network, 26% to other networks and 30 minutes per month of calls to voicemail based on a 1 minute call each day. |

Cheers Lee My advice is avoid O2 and Three if you want network performance. Avoid Vodafone if you want decent voicemail. I'd recommend Virgin or Orange. |

That seems right. I think T-Mobile has gone downhill since Deutsche Telecom wiped out One2One. I have never used my phone for a call because I think 30p a minute and 30p connection is just the biggest ripoff ever. They say over £20 is 10p a minute, but really. I used my £10 in over a year, £1.50 of that was wasted when browsing on their pathetic "services" area and went onto new ringtones or something. It's a joke. Their value for money is exceedingly poor. I'd much rather communicate over the Internet or using a landline if I want to talk, than use T-Mobile.
After all that, I'm probably going to switch to the O2 plan from the free sim card offer. |

I can never understand why Vodafone are number 1. Their pricing plans are poor and seem expensive. Do people really buy into the whole mass marketing they do with David Beckham?

T-Mobiles customer service is VERY poor. I left O2 and T-Mobile to go to Orange, who are fantastic and offer good value for for money and coverage.

Vodafone are expensive. Most of their success is due to more competetive business tarrifs and the fact they have been on the go since 1st January 1985. Much longer than One2One (T-Mobile) and Orange.
One2One's customer service was great I cant speak for T-Mobile however. They could have cut corners in customer service? |

I would also say that Vodafone have a rock-hard service - Reliable GPRS, WAP, etc. and also their network quality is great.

I suppose who is cheapest depends upon how you use your phone, for me & my usage patterns the Contract I have with Vodafone is by far the cheapest I can get (with the exception of some of the recent 3 cash back deals - not their standard tariffs). I also think their service & offering in general is great.
My sister on the otherhand fids O2 Onlines tariffs suit her needs better - although she admits to thinking Voda provide a better service than O2
