Little Mix! Where will Wings peak in the US?
Bets in!!
![]() I think it'll be a top 3 hit for sure. Very very catchy but nice for anyone to hear on pop and AC radio. |

Dont really know how the US Chart works. Its not like UK where you peak the first week, in USA you start low then go higher week by week?
Anyway I voted Top 20 which would be a great sucess imo. Even getting in the top 40 would be great

Top 40 will be great for me. I'm just happy they've got to go there in the first place.
Red Planet needs to get release Edit: I'm just a happy fan that they have a chance and not wondering What if's |

I love putting poll options like the bottom JUST so we can prove someone wrong
![]() They have a good US fanbase, as do many UK acts. |

Depends on how radio reacts to them as that is the only thing you need to have a hit in the US (as well as a little promo, everything else follows). If they get good radio support like 1D did with WMYB then it could go top 3.

tbh, MAYBE top 30.. won't go #1thats 4 sure.. Radios in the US never make it easy for UK acts.. NEVER! Cher Lloyd and 1D know that..

I think since 1D, people are starting to take it for granted that other X Factor acts with big fanbases will do well. I think we should be just as tentative as before because a US breakthrough still has a lot to do with luck, just as it did with 1D.
I think this year especially, there'll be some form of resistance to social media/fan power, coming from US radio because effectively it lessens the influence of radio. We've seen it happening already with Gangnam Style - internet sensation, people love it and still buying it in droves but radio suddenly with no explanation dropped it. I don't know if that was just a one-off but somehow I think it's just the beginning. And as we know, Wings will only do well if radio plays it. Also 1D was out of the blue and nobody expected it over there, whereas now there's some expectation so LM (and 5H and E3) have less of a chance to take the US by surprise. Anyway, I hope for top 10 at least and that everything falls into place. |

I'm not sure #1 is really realistic for them seeing as though they aren't really a conventional act for America, but these things can be unpredictable. I think a top 20 peak is possible but it will require a lot of hard work from them. I don't see them achieving a decent position until the latter half of this year.

Just because 1D did manage to break through in the US, it doesn't mean others will. Many people have failed. Furthermore, 1D's breakthrough was truely incredible, it normally takes a lot more time. I'm affraid people have too high expectations now for the other UK acts who try their luck...
How are they doing outside the UK right now? In Europe and in Australia? |

They went to Austraila at the end of October 2012. Did a radio tour? and peformed Wings on X Factor AUS. I think they done quite well New Zealand also included.
And what about Germany, Italy, France... Didn't they visit those countries at all? It's just that having a more global appeal already would be a sign that they can work without the entire X factor machine to back them up. |

Album is at gold - 35 000+ sold - Australia New Zeland - Wings goes gold Edit: Its weird that they don't tell how much they actually sold just annouce their certificates Not same sales as 1D, but its something |

Well, it's something, but it seems indeed that 1D had more sales outside the UK than they do. They also had a bit of buzz in the USA before going there.
I hope that the girls have some buzz in the States too, because it will be more difficult to have to start from absolute nothing. Then again, the 1D fans from the US must know about Zayn's GF... I also think it's tougher for girls than for guys (who happen to be cute)... I wish them a top 20 hit, but I wonder it's a sure thing at all. I guess I am a lot less optimistic than most people in this thread. |

Can I ask, is it confirmed that they've signed a US deal? I've seen the many news reports and the interview that everyone is citing but nowhere in that interview do they say they've signed a deal or if it is in fact with Columbia. As far as I can tell, they just say they want to release a single, they've chosen what they want it to be and why.
Edit: never mind, I just saw the 'Photo: Courtesy Columbia Records' at the bottom of the interview. |

They need to release Red Planet in the US, I'd say.
It'd probably do really well since T-Boz of TLC, who's had such a successful career, is on the song, and therefore I can imagine they'd do quite well with that in America. |
