Have you really decided to lump all the votes for the oscar best picture/director winner Schindler's List in the "other" category while listing dross like War of the Worlds?

Was tempted by Duel though. |

I voted for Duel. I love several of the others, but i think that to make Duel work, when not much actually happens, was masterful. It's a text book exercise in building suspense. It's easier to achieve with breathtaking action, as in Raiders of the Lost Ark, or Jurassic Park, which he also handled brilliantly, but to stretch out a, let's face it, pretty thin plot, and make it so engrossing was genius.

Raiders of the Lost Ark, which is not only my favourite Spielberg film, but my favourite film full stop, or at least up there in the top three. I love it.

It was going to be between Duel, Schlinder's LIst and ET so I had little choice in the poll in the end...
How about starting the poll again with these two masterpieces included?? I'm sure those who have already voted won't mind doing it again...

I went for Duel. Such a simple exercise and yet in it you can see the bones of Jawas and Jurassic Park.

Minority Report. A good effort at creating a Dickian world.

Don't forget Hook!.....hey, stop laughing
![]() I'd probably go for Jurassic Park since it was such a massive part of my childhood, runner ups would be Jaws, Saving Private Ryan, Close Encounters, Raiders of the Lost Ark and E.T. |

I went for Close Encounters, but Jaws was nipping at it's heels.
