He sold 40,000 in his first day. Did he not sell any for the rest of the week then?

Hey random poster what's your highest chart position been???

p.s. 40,000 so what your saying is that in the week up to christmas nobodies been buying records? Because if the 40,000 is true that means everyone under that has sold less than 40,000???

This is hardly worth commenting on, but I'm going to anyway.

I don't know who your favourite contestant was, but if he/she/them had won I bet you'd have been saying how number 2 is just like number 1 really considering what a phenomenon BA is., and how you're more than happy with the result.

Number 2 is just as good as number one when the competition is Band Aid. None of the other contestants would have stood any chance of knocking Band Aid off the top spot either, and the same goes from any track by other longer established artists either - Kylie and Ronan for example.

nothing wrong with number 2, getting a number 1 is not the be all and end all of a career. im sure losing out to band aid is quite respectable. how many more anti steve threads are we going to have?

No arguements here from me Lola. The sour grapes poster's on this forum can post all they like I for one am very happy with Steve's number two slot in the charts Never expected Steve to get anything other than number two this week

I am very happy, as I am sure Stevie baby is and his family and friends, so let the sour grapes losers of the other acts rabbit on as much as they like, I don't give two hoots

He sold far more than 40 thousand. He sold more than the rest of the top 10 put together.

I wondered how long it would take for this thread to come. NO song released this year would have been able to knock Band Aid off the top spot this week and, as has been said already, he sold more than 40,000. But, the Steve haters never let logic get in the way of a good rant

yup, andy, i have. i think he has a good chance seeing as there isnt any decent singles being released tomorrow. he has a good chance at being number 1, although if hes number 2 again that would be brilliant!

Hi Mb, Just 8 posts to go and you hit the magic 1,000th

RP, got that thread up within seconds of the chart position going out he/she must have been getting ready to pounce, but it backfired on them bigtime

No actually. I dislike these reality TV shows, and this is IMO a clear signal that they will soon be gone. Sure people may vote for the one they want to win, but how many million votes was it? And how many singles? Back when they started, these winners were selling millions...

But single sales have dropped dramtically over recent years. Most people buy albums instead or download off the internet, so comparing sales to earliar winners is a bit of a pointless exercise.

Ye, people dont buy singles as much any more, and yes, perhaps these reality tv shows are slowly going downhill.

however, if x factor can give steve the opputunity to do what he has been trying to all his life, who say theyre rubbish, or not worthwhile?? steve is now living his dream, and even if it doesnt last for a long time, he will have achieved what he has wanted to achieve all his life. im sure he will continue to make singles and albums for amny years, even if they dont reach number one. there are so many sucessful artists out there who dont get to number one, who dont even get into the top ten. being number one, or not being number one, does not nesseccarily make or break an artist.

seeing you hate these type of programs you seem to know a lot about them.
sales have dropped so much since the first pop idol.
you were just waiting to pounce.we all knew he was going to be no2.it was not a shock.know one was going to knock band aid off the top, steve outsold the rest of the top ten,10 to 1,so there.
