This exit storyline is going to be the biggest croc of sh*t ever.

I'm going out on a limb here but I think he loves Zainab. Though thinking about it when does that little fact get in the way of a juicy story in soapland?

I can't see Masood sleeping with her to be honest, or at least don't believe he would, but something must happen for Zainab to pack up and go. It does sound like a crap exit storyline for Zainab though if it is a result of an affair between Masood/Ayesha. Can the writers think of any new storylines nowadays that doesn't involve infidelity?

Most big storylines all involve affairs, they usually make good telly.

Stax - an affair
SharonGate - an affair
Den gives the Divorce Papers - all came out of Den's affairs

They've always been a big part of soaps

Oh yeah I agree, those storylines were great. Affairs if done right in soaps with the right characters always pull the viewers in. But we've just had a big affair storyline with Kat and Alfie (not saying that was necessarily good though because it wasn't). An exit storyline for Zainab could have been a little more imaginative that's all I am saying. It's early days though, we still don't really have a clue what's gonna happen with Ayesha and Masood but it looks obvious from what we know and seen so far. Guess we will see!

These were all good storylines but all Eastenders seem to be doing is cheating on a partner now. Recent, we have had Kat and Derek, Max and Kirsty and Ray and Denise.

Yeah, I agree. But those affair storylines were more organic and natural (most notably SharonGate). Nowadays, they just like to have an affair storyline just for the sake of it, because they don't know what else to do with a character(s), and what you end up with is a contrived mess. I haven't seen an affair in for a long time that's felt natural at all. I've no doubts the Ayesha and Masood affair (if it happens) will be the same.

It's true, there have been lots of cheating/affairs lately. I was just pointing out, that most of the highest ratings come from affair reveals (as well as whodunnits I guess)

I love a good affair storyline but this one isn't going to have much of a build up. P*ss poor.

I meant to add as well, there are many others, my brains just a bit dead atm.

Pat, Frank & Peggy reveal in the Vic
Kat's affair reveal (love it or hate it, I'm pretty sure it pulled in some good figures, correct me if I'm wrong)
Arthur's affair reveal
Max & Tanya's affair reveal (BUBBLY'S IN THE FRIDGE!!!!)

There's many more, they usually make good telly (if it's done right, no shagging shadows )

Exactly, it has to be done well. You have to see the cracks form first, and then see the buildup/friendship. Sharongate is the perfect example, and Stax as well in some ways.

Most will just be sick to see Zainab and Masood break up again as well. If he could resist with Jane when they were in a hotel room alone, someone who IMO was the second 'love of his life', then he's hardly going to go with Ayeesha.

So Alesha is a trollop. I knew the little miss innocent was just an act. I think EE is done with the Muslims characters striving to be perfect and good Muslims because they were too limited storyline wise.

I kept hoping the Shagger would pop his head out of the shadows and reveal himself as Harry Hill . Certainly would've made that atrocious storyline more interesting!

Agreed. If I knew the writers were gonna do such shabby portrayals of Muslims, I would've preferred they developed the Masoods (AJ in particular) as Hindus instead.

Or maybe they have gone down the route of Muslims being humans and therefore not perfect?

This is like the worst storyline ever....so suddenly it was all an act and she's really a sl*t after Masood? And 'sizzling seductress' wtf. I can't believe this was the best they could think of for Z's exit....

The Masoods were never perfect, they were actually very flawed but despite their flaws they were always trying to be good Muslims. Obviously AJ isn't trying to be a good anything and Alesha is unashamed homewrecker.

Hello, joy of pat

I'm not saying the Masoods should've been perfect, no religious person is perfect. But I would've preferred they made them sensible Muslims (AJ and Ayesha in particular), while still having flawed personalities. EE seem adamant in showing how un-Muslim the Masoods at times. So my question is, why make them Muslim at all?

Can I ask you why? Muslims are not flawed and are all perfect god fearing and law abiding citizens? I don't think so.
