Don't you mean offer choice? Apple don't know that word do they?

This is good. The S2+ and the Premier are great alternatives to the S3 and S4 which some people may find too big. Not everyone is happy with one set form factor so it's great that Samsung are offering their users choice. It's like a range of cars, different models suit different people, but they all tie back into the same brand. Others in the smartphone business could learn from that.

How about comments on the introduction of another phone in the galaxy range. Good or bad?

I so far only see 1 comment from a well known WUM not on topic.

Anyway, yes, its good. Choice is an excellent thing. It may not sell in huge numbers but the choice is there for consumers.

Not seen a premier so I can't comment on that. I just wonder when choice becomes confusion.

Yes, I was hoping people might just ignore

I think the choice view only goes so far, it is starting to get tricky to tell them all part.

I don't understand this phone. it's the exact same spec as the Galaxy S2 but with Jellybean preinstalled but less onboard storage. What's the point paying say £320+ for this when the S2 can be had for under £210 brand new from Orange.

Why?

How many Vauxhall Astra's are there, how many Vauxhalls how many models of tv , how many models of trainers, models of toasters?

I can think of no reason this should be any different with regard to phones other than a certain one manufacturer produces one phone and you think that is the way it should be?

I assume this keeps something new in the 4.3" field.

so you keep saying

Why then when companies often produce hundreds of variants of their product do you think this is not applicable to phone producers?

it will most likely replace the S2, not sit along side it in the range. A sensible mid-price offering.

Also includes NFC, improvement to camera shutter lag, and the majority of the software features introduced with the S3. (Direct call, smart stay, popup video, s voice)

Definitely a potential for my next phone. 4.3" screen is perfect. I don't like the S3 cos it's just too big for my liking.

It has microSD support though so that wouldn't be too much of an issue.

The S3 mini is already available , although when they say mini it's still the size on an iPhone 4.

Go into a phone shop and try and choose which one to buy. You are presented with about 50 different smart phones with some having such small deviations in spec and performance it it crazy. If you think that is fine, good. I don't.

Yeh but that's not my point. So did the orginal S2. Besides the original S2 will get Jellybean as well (plus it's already out on XDA)

The thing is this phone is the exact same spec right down to the battery. There is nothing different about this phone except NFC. The thing is that i can guarantee this will cost £300. Where as the S2 costs £200 from orange right now. Why pay more for the same thing just because the name has a plus after it.

Besides there are much better phones at this screen size and around £300. look at the Xperia S for example or Ascend D Quad etc...

Samsung seem to just want to milk the market now. I'd have understood if it had a slight advantage to the S2 but it doesn't even have that. It's a sad day when a company releases the same product 2 years later and decides to overcharge more than it should cost.

The i9100 does not come with NFC
The i9100p does come with NFC

So only certain models have it.

Yep I've one of these supplied by work - I also have a normal s2 for personal use. Aside from been able to read my oyster card and my girlfriends passport I don't actually know what nfc is actually useful for though?
