As far as I know it's just the Full Monty plans. No other networks/plans affected.
Can't tell you but it's reliable.
If it doesn't happen on the 16th you can lambast me then

I hope it doesn't come to that, the deal I'm on with T-Mobile is something I'll never be able to match.
And their coverage is so much better than the likes of Vodafone.

Yeah, I got a lot of the same excuses.
I have e-mails in which I was told there absolutely no speed cap, that they didn't exist, that it must be my handset or the network in my area. Then after they added the booster and the speeds increased, I asked again if there was no such things as a speedtest and, funnily enough, no reply

Why can't you say?

Look, I don't want to get arsey about this but I simply can't tell you. I also can't tell you why I can't tell you. Can I ask that you please don't ask me again.
I know that sounds crap but there are reasons why and I'm not prepared to go into that. I will not be responding to anymore requests for this kind of info.
And really, I'm not being funny or trying to piss you off.

We used to have a member of staff post here with info, but he's not allowed to now. Chances are Devon has been tipped off by PM or something at a guess.

Obviously he won't say, but I should imagine it's something like that.

If tethering is an optional add-on for your plan you'll be taken to a landing page to order it. £5 a month normally.

Im currently getting 8.17 down and 1.97 up. I will be majorly annoyed if this affects me.

I am on the original full monty (with tethering) and can use the phone while away from home to get access for my work. The systems I use are slow as it is but are bearable with a faster internet connection.

It's possible it'll just be for new signups but don't hold me to that. I'll try to find out.

Ok, just found out. ALL FM plans will be affected, existing and new.

So is it 3.8 /0.8 or actually 4/1?

It's 4/1.

I wonder if they're going to continue to deny a cap once it's reinstated. Or whether they'll update their traffic management information, which currently says they don't slow down any services.

My guess is they'll deny it like they did before. And yep i'd like to say that in my last post i put the cap was 3.6mbps, like paulkner mentioned it was actually 3.8mbps

The cap being removed is the only reason I moved back to tmobile on the full monty plan..

Will we have grounds for early termination without penalty?
Really not happy with this news.

I would like to know this too.

No you won't. FM plans always had a speed cap. The removal was temporary. Now it's being put back.

But if an artificial speed restriction isn't in place when you sign up, and isn't mentioned when you sign up for the contract, how can it really be enforced as part of that contract?

I suppose the generic traffic management statement in the contract will cover it, but they'll have to update their traffic management information to reflect that FM speeds are capped. Or just lie about it like they did before.

I think its obvious now why there doing this, Firstly to make the somewhat slow and unreliable LTE service look faster, its obvious they are having capacity problems.

Well, it adds up, they are going to try and make there LTE service look faster than the typical 3g connection. but where i live for example i can never get anything more than 16-18Mbps on LTE but i can get over 20 on 3g, during the evenings on the LTE it can drop to below 1Mbps. Which the 3g does also.
