I just want to point out that even though Katie has lost an ovary, she can still have children quite easily.
I lost 1 and a half ovaries and a fallopian tube at aged 21 and have 2 children.


Things like this annoy me.

I don't think Katie or Declan have even spoken to a Specialist yet - this story is possibly going to upset people and that annoys me.

I know. I laughed out loud at the whining that katie's been doing. - They either dont have a very knowledgable Dr or they haven't even seen anyone and are jumping to conclusions. Either way it isn't fair portraying it like this for big viewer figures.

It's rubbish. I hate what they're doing to Katie. It's the typical Blackburn trick of completely destroy a character, leave them with nothing, no relationships and no friends... and then start to make them slowly likable again. It's happened to Ashley, Val and Chas already and is currently happening to Jai and Katie. It's the only storytelling method he seems to know. If the only way you can make a character likable is to destroy them and build them back up, you shouldn't be in the business of writing soap.

They haven't seen the specialist yet, have they? I think they're panicking. The doctor in the hospital said that it wasn't completely ruled out - they're jumping to conclusions, which I would think would be a natural reaction (especially for Katie), given that they're both still recovering from the trauma of the accident. Maybe when they see the specialist they'll realise that things aren't as bleak as they seem. They might have to wait a while for the appointment, though.

I think Katy's attitude is down to Declan. He told her without a Dr present (at his request) that she had no chance of ever having a baby. He did admit that the Dr said they could see a consultant and see what options they had but he poo poo'ed that idea saying that reading between the lines the dr was saying it was going to be impossible. Katy needs to discuss things with the dr herself.

What an idiot he is. Oh well, maybe once Katie is up to it, she'll look into it herself. Won't do her marriage any favours though! Mind you, in Declan's defence it is easy to over exaggerate the negatives, especially when doctors are being non-committal. He probably thinks he's protecting her, because of course she's not capable of deciding these things for herself, in her fragile state.

It just allows the writers to give us endless angst ridden conversations over bucketfuls of wine. Its neck and neck with the angst ridden conversations between Jai and Charity.
This whole storyline has been so mishandled, first of course the doctor would have spoken to Katie first before even discussing it with Declan and a consultant who actually treats that kind of problem should have been seen.
