I love my O2 broadband and I really hope SKY don't take over. I don't like how they force you to have the phone deal as well

Yes O2 BB have given me a good service but I would not worry about Sky as their will be better options available.

Years ago I was with Freeserve and Orange took them over and lost virtually all their BB customers including me.
Sky are probably tempted to buy O2BB to stop BT buying it as BT are trying to buy into subscription TV.

I doubt I will be going anywhere near Sky or anybody who tries to flog me Pay TV as part of the package as it's paying for stuff I already get for free.

Plusnet appear to be a strongly favoured option for Sky refuseniks suggested by Those Brainy Bods who know what's what.

I have already jumped ship twice to avoid falling into the clutches of Tiscali / TalkTalk and been very satisified with O2 over the past few years.

Vodafone,Plusnet,TalkTalk and even Virgin Media could even be possible buyers.

Plusnet owned by BT, a sneaky way of retaining custom and a BT service with less Ofcom regulation, a perfect solution to making Plusnet bigger.

Vodafone, recently acquired Cable and Wireless which has an under-used LLU network. Vodafone is looking into the consumer fixed line and broadband business. A good way to start.

TalkTalk, over the years have taken over many companies, OneTel&British Gas,Tiscali,Tele2 and Toucan Talk. Bulldog and Pipex has been off loaded again.

Virgin Media possibly to maintain its market share.

The O2 brand could be kept and used under licence to Telefonica O2. Retaining customer discounts.
